PVOutput - Idiot's Guide for auto-uploading required

I've manually entered today's energy numbers. I'm up to date now. Hopefully tomorrow will bring some good news about an auto-update. You can see my station here. http://pvoutput.org/list.jsp?userid=30882Cheers,
Ray.

Hi
Looking at the data, something seems to be wrong.
PVOUTPUT will need energy data in the form of Wh or kWh, but the data looks more like power (Watts) .... if you look at the period between 10am & 11am , you'll see the following readings ...
10:30,1263.00
10:45,2071.00
11:00,1567.00
... at 10:45 the system was either producing 2071W, or, in the 15 minute period running up to 10:45 the system generated 2071Wh, which means an average power of ~8.3kW, which PVOUTPUT would probably compare against the capacity of your system and reject it as being an error ...
You'll need to have a look at the data available to be retrieved from your inverter and the format it can be made available. Somewhere on the PVOUTPUT site there's an explanation of the order of the fields which need to be presented ... you can upload more than the time & running total, for example, the spot power seems to be something which many using the 'live' system use ....

I've had to perform some jiggery-pokery on my GEO solo data. Using "as-is" from the CSV didn't give the correct results (data was power generated per 15 min interval) - using this gave me a generated daily total of around 3kWh which was well below the 11kWh that was generated.
In Excel I had to create a running total column and use this along with the date/time.
It's given me this for today, which looks about right, though I'm guessing my actual peak of 2.828kW was in between the 15 minute data collected.

The only thing incorrect for the live data is the credit (it's assuming I exported it all). I've looked at my tariff settings and they're spot on for the regular Daily view.4kWp system (Feb 2014) : 1.5 SW, 2.5 NE (16x Bisol BMO/250, Aurora Power-One UNO PVI-3.6 Inverter : pvoutput.org/list.jsp?id=299350 -
Hi Ray,
I've performed the same calculations on your pasted data as I did for mine (it looked to be similarly-presented current output @ 15 min intervals), and it came up with a total daily generation of around 27kWh, which seems wildly incorrect.
Was worth a shot

Z & Craig,
Take your points about how to extract the data from the Solar Edge interface but I appear limited to one type of data.
I'm attaching a couple of screen shots of the tools available to me. the SE energy graph for today which is a visual representation of the data I supplied earlier and the PVOutput Load Live Output interface I'm using.
You can see I'm using Time and Energy Generated. I don't see any alternatives that would produce a cumulative total which is what PVOutput seems to want.
Groovy,
I also tried creating a third column to create a cumulative total but it ended up like yours - not usable and totally false value.
This is very frustrating. Before I retired I was a programmer and well used to dealing with data such as csv files but it seems to me that unless Solar Edge can give me more options I can't generate the data in a format that is acceptable to PVOutput.Cheers,
Ray.

Relax, it's fine.
The figures you've got are power generated not energy generated.

Untick energy generated, tick power generated, and set it to column 2. Then try again.3.924kWp (12X327Wp SunPower). SolarEdge SE3500 inverter.

Hi
The chart is titled Power& Energy, but is only displaying power. Energy is power delivered over a period of time, measured in Wh, whilst power is an instantaneous reading in W.
You will need to find a way to extract energy data, not just the instantaneous or average power.

Ray, clearly I hadn't shared it properly but you should have access now.

Jimmy! You're a star. That's fixed it. Many thanks. BTW, those links you provided needed authorisation before I can see them.
Z, thanks too but as you can see I've been using the wrong option on the Live Upload.
Still need a solution to all this manual stuff. I even run my own weather station but can't find a way of using that info. Maybe only open to Australians and those who donate!
Time for bed. More tomorrow. Thanks very much.Cheers,
Ray.

You will need to find a way to extract energy data, not just the instantaneous or average power.
Alternatively, upload the data you already have in the format I describe, which expects power (not energy).
I have found that PVOutput underestimates relative to SolarEdge by about 3 to 4 percent. But this is a similar amount as my generation meter, which reports lower than SolarEdge too.
