I'm not defending the bailiff, but minors shouldn't be left on their own anyway.

You were never left alone until you turned 18?

Thats a bit far fetched I think.

It's not always as simple as that, I had bailiffs knocking on my door in my old house but they were looking for the people who lived there before me.

OH had debt collectors after him for a BT phone bill, he has never had a phone line in his name, I don't know who the debt was actually for but it wasn't him.

You just have to read some of the forums on here to realise this sort of thing happens all the time.

But in this case it was as simple as that, low life types trying to avoid paying their tv license. I have no sympathy, if they'd paid what they owe their daughter would not have been upset.

    Link?

All I found in the story I read was that he was trying to collect a £78 debt for tv licence from 2002. Nothing about the circumstances in how that debt came to be or whether it is indeed owed.

Why is this on the consumer rights board?

A look at their Facebook pages don't show them to be particularly 'low life'. How can you tell from a newspaper article?

None of it would be necessary if people paid what they owe.

    Was it the daughter's debt?

    NO?

So what was he doing, discussing the matter with her?

Clear breach of DPA, I'd say.

I wasn't sure where to put it.

Besides, it about a consumer's right, not to have their 12 year old daughter terrified by a bailiff?

    No debt - no problemo

I am sure the police were all too willing to assist again as usual

And yet you cite "bullies" as a pet peeve in your sig. That's exactly what this person is
One important thing to remember is that when you get to the end of this sentence, you'll realise it's just my sig.
