Bailiff has licence revoked, after terrifying 12 year old girl.

I should damn well think so too.

Not sure if this is in the right forum.
A BAILIFF will have to apply for his licence again in six months after a court was told a 12-year-old girl was left in tears by a notice he left for her mother.

Personally, I think he should never get his licence back.

    Be my guest. :)

    As for
Harbottle & Lewis LLP, on behalf of Marston, told MK News that this was an isolated incident, and that Marston ‘has a very good track record in its industry.

I believe there needs to be stricter guidelines/restrictions in place for when kids answer the door... The debtor's children are often more willing to give out information (personal phone numbers, current locations etc) than perhaps they should be!

  • Are bailiffs licensed by the SIA?
  • No. They are licensed by the courts.
  • I know they are licensed by the courts, but I thought they also needed an SIA Licence.

The law is about to change/has just changed, to include this - bailiffs can't bother houses where there are only minors present.

I'm not defending the bailiff, but minors shouldn't be left on their own anyway.

None of it would be necessary if people paid what they owe.

It's not always as simple as that, I had bailiffs knocking on my door in my old house but they were looking for the people who lived there before me.

OH had debt collectors after him for a BT phone bill, he has never had a phone line in his name, I don't know who the debt was actually for but it wasn't him.

You just have to read some of the forums on here to realise this sort of thing happens all the time.
