Hi
Sorry to have asked for so much advise recently. I need a bit of help! Not sure if this is the right board to post on.. but here goes...
My problem is girl number 2. The first lodger (who's now moved out) and I chose girl number 2 to move in, back in January to take my room. She seemed fine. very organised etc.
Now that I am back, I have been living here with her for a month. She's a total neat freak, to the extent that she had obviously been crying the other day when she had found that some food of mine had accidentally fallen through from my shelf onto her shelf below. She also was extremely upset that she found an apple core in the bin upstairs in the bathroom, saying that it could get creepy crawlies in the bathroom etc. She was so mad that she called my house a sh**hole (it isnt, I can assure you) and raised her voice at me.
She uses the washing machine on an 'as and when basis' (eg: she has no qualms about washing one teatowel at 40 degrees for 90 mins). when I asked her to do 2 loads a week, (one whites, the other coloureds) she reacted very badly indeed. She quoted the tenancy agreement as not having anything written about use of washing machine. I asked her to try, which she said she would. Since then I have noticed that she's still using the washing machine a LOT (eg: one wash for pink clothes, one for black clothes, one for green clothes etc).
Any advise would be gladly appreciated.

how long does she have left on her tenancy?0

Now that I am back, I have been living here with her for a month.
I actually feel a bit afraid of talking to her, scared that I will get a very volatile reaction from her. She said she's moving out in a months time, but I would rather her go asap (she's got somewhere to go if need be) and give her all the money back that I would
Think you will have to grin and bear it !
Hope YOUR month passes quickly.0 -
Give her the top shelf of the fridge? And gently suggest she gets some therapy for her OCD!0

grownupgirly,
Can you tell us what date she moved in, and what date you left for your travels?Well life is harsh, hug me don't reject me.0 -
if you have at most 3-4 weeks then just put up with it, let her use the wassing machine as much as she likes and sleep with a chair against the door.
frankly they sound like a nutter but i doubt they are violent or dangerous, some people are just odd, you just have to deal.0 -
but i doubt they are violent or dangerous,
Sometimes she sits at the window on a rocking chair, wearing a blanket :eek:0 -
Any chance of changing your name to lower case PL?0

If she is indeed your lodger, you don't need to give her any bnotice.
But post on http://landlordzone.co.uk/forums/index.php? to check on the status of her tenancy.
I too think she needs help with her OCD.(AKA HRH_MUngo)

Imagine someone holding forth on biology whose only knowledge of the subject is the Book of British Birds, and you have a rough idea of what it feels like to read Richard Dawkins on theology: Terry Eagleton0 -
thanks, seven-day-weekend!
the big question remains, how to broach the OCD issue? Would she 'receive it' from me? Hmmmm.0 -

I left for my travels on Jan 22. Her contract started on Jan 29, I think.
Cheers!

You state that "Her contract started on Jan 29 I think".
I asked "What date did she move in"?Well life is harsh, hug me don't reject me.0
