Electoral Roll - on it or not??

I was ALWAYS on the electoral roll but did not show up on any CRA reports . I had to chase up all 3 CRAs to change my records. It took a while but wasn't too hard. I had no idea why they all had me as not being on ER.0

I always opt out of the edited register. This is what it says on the back of the local council electoral form:
The Electoral Registration Officer makes and keeps two versions of the electoral register - the full register and the edited register. Please put a tick in the appropriate box if you wish for your name and address to be excluded from the edited register.
The full register lists everyone who is entitled to vote. You can check it by calling at the council offices or at some local libraries. Only certain people and organisations can have copies of the full register, and they can only use it for specified purposes. These include electoral purposes, the prevention and detection of crime and checking your identity when you have applied for credit. The law says who can have a copy of the full register and what they can use it for. The full list of such persons and purposes is given in the Representation of the People (England and Wales) (Amendment) Regulations 2002. It is a criminal offence for them to pass it on to anyone else or to use it for any other purpose.
The edited register leaves out the names and addresses of people who have asked for their names to be excluded from that version of the register. The edited register can be bought by anyone who asks for a copy and they may use it for any purpose

I'm not on it, yet I have a Nationwide credit card and a Marks and Spencer credit card.0

When I applied for my Nationwide FlexDirect account the end of last year that was automatically approved. Different lenders, different search criteria I suppose.0
