Here's some free trailers that you can try to see whether it works...

Thank you, I will try those at the week end.
At the moment we don't watch four films a month. We DO often check a TV guide on line to see if there is something on tv and I think we buy about six DVDs a year ( at most) I don't want to buy any more DVDs.
I do like the idea of the flexibility of pay per view film on tv. That would suit us best.
Looking again at the you view does your tv have to be plugged in to a phone too? Hmmm, we'd have to have telephone engineers in. Not end of the world for long term system.
These box and subscription things, is it one tv one box and subscription?
. If we went for something might be worth making more than one tv operate in such a way. 0 -
With Film4 and the minor movie channels, there are already a lot of films on Freeview/Freesat - maybe it's just a question of recording them to watch at your convenience?
Youview is flexible - it will work quite happily as a Freeview recorder, if there is no broadband (Ethernet) connection, and as a Catch-up/Pay TV player if there is no aerial connection. Obviously, works best with both.0 -
Meanwhile - you might find something interesting to watch from Open Culture movies online http://www.openculture.com/freemoviesonline0

Agreed. YouView is designed to work with both a decent broadband connection and decent TV signal (like a roof aerial). Broadband would require at least 3Mbps to work reliably.0 -
