how utterly rude:mad:
i have 2 girls (older) and they LOVE when i make them a bag as no one else has anything like them
we customise theirs with all sorts of things
and
i get calls, "its Kayleighs birthday mum, you know she LOVES blue............"
i know that means "can you make Kayleigh a blue bag please":rotfl:
i dont know whether to be  at the mother or child
99% of people would never have been so rude or ungrateful0 -
The mum shouldn't have said anything! How would the 11yo know where it had come from, you could have got it a crafty arty shop, if it looks 'home-made'.
My daughter was 11 last week and I'd be amazed if she could tell the difference, unless they were already into brand named bags. In any case my daughters collection of bags include some that never see daylight because they are used within the house to store different items in. Don't let it upset you, but learn from the experience and draw a line under buying presents for them in future.0 -
My daughters would have loved that.x0

Rude, ignorant and ungrateful. It sounds like a lovely gift."'Cause it's a bittersweet symphony, this life

I wouldn't think badly of the child it appears to be the mother who is the rude ungrateful one. I would avoid her in future she sounds toxic.
I think the gift sounds lovely and much nicer than shop bought. My most treasures gifts I've received are those that were home made.:j Trytryagain FLYLADY - SAYE £700 each month Premium Bonds £713 Mortgage Was £100,000@20/6/08 now zilch 21/4/15:beer: WTL - 52 (I'll do it 4 MUM)0 -
Like others have already said, very nice gesture but next time don't waste your time.
I do wonder whether the child actually dislikes the gift or whether it is more a comment from the parent.
Am sure the present was actually liked, just all out of context.
PS Wish I had a neighbour like you0 -
Hi,hettiecarro wrote: »so don't be offended if you don't see her using it
you should've said 'well don't be offended, I'll take it back, someone will appreciate it'.
Well that's one less one your present list, and if neighbour ever wants any alterations done, I'm sure you'll have an answer for her.0 -
Wow, you should be gratefull if this winds you up, you could have real problems instead!0

That's uncalled for.
The OP had every right to be upset by the disgusting remark of the girl's mother. It was a sweet and considerate gift and, frankly, I'd choose a present like that over and above a shop-bought one.0
