I haven't got an issue. I never said she was, far from it actually. I wasn't happy with the link she posted as much of it gave incorrect and false information so rather than people read it and going away believing it to be true "cos it says so on the internet", I was simply providing a more accurate and balanced view of the same subject as it just happened to be something being discussed on the other thread the previous day.

That's all. I'm not quite sure why you appear to have taken offence to me doing that. I always try to correct misinformation where I see it. There's enough rubbish circulating in this industry as it is so I like to point people in the right direction to enable them to make informed decisions.

Lol, I haven't taken offence at anything. I don't believe anything just because it says so on the internet.
As it happens I managed to lose weight successfully and healthily without any 'expert' help whatsoever. I just enjoy reading different blogs, is all :)
Edit - I've just googled Dr Jade Teta. I remain unconvinced.

I do struggle with the idea of the "starvation mode", simply because of the concentration camp and anorexia examples (and also because I've lost something approaching 6 stones by eating a diet that would be very likely criticised as too low in calories and doing quite a bit of exercise).

I've read both those links and can see sensible bits in both. All I know is the last 16 months ahs worked for me. I also know I probably need to up my intake and give myself a break in the gym, but am a bit scared of doing that. I'll get there though.

Using my personal experience ((obviously not scientific proof) I would say the 'starvation mode' theory is completely untrue.
When I haven't had enough food to eat (not through a 'weight loss diet') weight has fallen off me .I have noticed exactly the same thing in my friend.

And you lost muscle as well as if not faster than fat. fine if that was your objective you succeeded.

We speak a different language to those who obsess about the weighing scales so it often seems futile replying. I just can't be bothered explaining the difference at times.

Particularly today as I've spent much of the day battling with a client to give up bread/pasta etc when they're obviously gluten intolerant and trying to explain why. You have to pick your battles at times. My silence here often doesn't mean I agree, it's just the easier option at times ;)

    Such a shame.

He's actually an incredibly well respected scientist in the industry and if you had any knowledge on how the human body works you'd realise that. Ah well, people like you are why this industry exists, and why people like me will go on trying to educate people to be/become healthy :)
