.192 is not always accurate in time though. It took more than a year for me to show up as having moved with my husband and re-registered before it showed as me having moved.

I don't understand your conflict - I might if these people were good friends of yours but they obviously aren't. Do the right (and legal) thing and if they turn out to be genuine, then they'll have nothing to fear.

I would agree that 192 isn't always accurate. However if you genuinely believe they are committing benefit fraud then report them. If they aren't then no harm done and if they are then it will be dealt with.

I'd bet my last penny they are scamming because these people are pretty low-life types.

Their friends are all thugs and thieves-they know every trick in the book.

She has lived at and been registered at her present address for seven years-on her own-the 192 record confirms this.

Well they sort of befriended me on the basis they think i know a thing or two and so better keep me ' onside ' just in case...

I was quite helpful to them for a while but i realised these kind of people take advantage of kindness.

Having said that you might wonder why i still have any compassion for them.

I suppose im being a bit of a mug :(

I should note that 192.com relies on you bothering to update your electoral registration.

even if you do report them, don't think it's guaranteed that anything will happen. a friend of mine has reported at least 2 people & nothing whatsoever has happened. everything that was reported was accurate & up to date, involved council tax, benefit & tax fraud, nothing done about either case...

I too reported someone who I knew for sure was claiming for benefits she was not entitled to and boasting openly about it and how well off she was.

That was a couple of years ago and despite have reported her a couple of times since nothing at all has happened

Yes- my details are not on 192 because of my job. If the registration forms have not been returned for the addresses then they won't be updated.

Besides, it's for the DWP to gather the evidence lawfully to show they reside at the same address. You should just report your suspicions & leave it at that
  • I have lost count of the number of people I have reported for fraud. Many wonder how on earth we find out about their fraud - simple truth many are reported by friends and family because they open their big gobs and boast about what they are doing.
These are my own views and you should seek advice from your local Benefits Department or CAB.

Something could well have happened, they might have been interviewed under caution and an over payment created - could be they haven't told anyone what has happened because they are ashamed of being caught.
