I'm glad it's not just us who have differences of opinion when it comes to packing!
Well, the packing is finally all done, just got to zip up the cases, and we'll put them in the car this evening, to save time tomorrow.
I'm really looking forward to this holiday - it's a long time to be away, but time really does go quickly when there's so much to see and do.
Hopefully, Storm Imogen won't cause to many problems with our journey to Southampton tomorrow.
I've been checking the Marine Traffic website and our ship is nearly in port. I think the captain must have put his foot down to get in before the worst of it. But I fully expect our sailing to be delayed - we're due to sail at 5pm tomorrow, but I think they'll wait to the early hours of the morning.
I'll sign off now - thank you for all your good wishes, very much appreciated and I'll see you mid-March!Early retired - 18th December 2014

Hello, I'm back!!
The cruise itself was excellent, especially the American ports. It had been 15 years since we've been to the USA and it was great to be back.
So many things to remember, such as going to a jazz show in New Orleans, seeing the 6 toed cats at Hemingway's House in Key West, seeing a plantation house, an Everglades airboat ride, Kennedy Space Centre and so on.
At some point I'll post a couple of pictures, but I've barely had a chance to look at them as yet.
In my very last post I mentioned Storm Imogen..... well, we got to Southampton ok, but the storm had really whipped up the sea, and the first two days had the worse weather I've ever had on a cruise. We had to stow away any loose items, but things we couldn't put away, like the phone, ended up on the floor.
At dinner on the second night, we were struck by a freak wave. It cracked three windows in the dining room, and then, one of the windows blew out completely. Fortunately, no one was hurt, but it was disconcerting to say the least to see curtains blowing horizontally into the room!
Repairs were quickly done, but for a while, I thought we were going to need our life jackets. After that, we had a real mix of weather, some good, some bad, but nothing like our initial experiences.
As it was a long cruise, nearly all the passengers ended up with the dreaded cruise cough, including us. I managed not to succumb until the very last night. But some people had directly coughed over me a couple of days previously, so I knew I was going to get it.
Mr Goldie caught his cough after three weeks, it got better, then, it got worse again.
Since we've been back, we've both been quite ill with it.
I've just about managed to get the washing and ironing up to date, but apart from that we've done nothing but sit around as we've been very listless.
I feel slightly better today, my cough isn't so manic now, so I managed to get a better nights sleep.
hopefully, we'll get back to normal soonEarly retired - 18th December 2014
