Thanks Goldie, I think I'll contact DWP again and have a chat with them.

    Many thanks

Good idea, may as well do everything possible to maximise retirement income

Sounds like it is getting very organised around Goldiesville.

Yes, all the things I was trying to get sorted just resolved themselves in a couple of days.

Now that the bulk of things that needed doing have been sorted out, I'm hoping life will be fairly simple from now on.

I'm just hoping the weather will pick up soon so we can start having more days out.

De-cluttering has picked up in the last week or so. We removed some things from the shed during the week, and there's a few things that will sell on eBay over the next couple of days.

This afternoon I listed half of the shirts on eBay, and I'll do the rest tomorrow.

I was pleased that Kate waited until today to give birth, as May 2nd was my dad's birthday.

  • Maybe you could suggest that Will and Kate name her after him? Is there a female derivation of his name? I think they should feel honoured!
Paid off mortgage nine years early in 2013. Now picking and choosing our work to fit in with the rest of our lives!
Still thrifty though, after all these years:D

I have a feeling they wouldn't be agreeable - he was always known as Lawrence, but he was actually born Lancelot! (I've discovered that it's a name that has been used in the family tree back to the 1600's)

I'm not sure there's any female version of Lancelot!

There's an even more unusual and individual name that runs in the family. It's so individual, I can't post it, as it'd identify my family.

But it's brilliant for family history.

Think I should talk to DWP about making up my pension contributions. I tried to find out the details last year but the new rules meant they sent me one of those "all about to change letters" but I should follow up now. Thanks for the reminder.
And love the family name thing.
Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!

I think it's great that we're all trying to maximise our state pension while we still have the opportunity

Decluttering has been going well over the last week or so - I'm up to 282 now.

Hooray, at last ! I've got to the £40 pay out point on One Poll :j

It's taken me 10 months. As soon as the money hits my Paypal account I'll de-register, as I've had enough now.

I'm at £43 on You Gov - when I get to the £50 pay out I'll decide whether or not to carry on with YG. I don't mind YG as much, as they only give me surveys that I'm not screened out of, and the surveys are slightly more interesting.

I got a free sachet of posh muesli with my National Trust magazine, so I'll be having that for breakfast tomorrow - I'm rather looking forward to it.

I'm not posting as much at present, as I'm taking a step back from MSE for a while. I was finding I was spending a lot of time with my head bent over the screen reading MSE, and missing things that were going on around me.

But I will be looking in from time to time, so I am still here!

    :T Well done Goldie

It also took me ages to get to my first payout but then I have to say that ever since then it's been much quicker. Usually every 3 months or so. I agree it can be frustrating that you can be screened out - although they do at least do it at the beginning (unlike some sites) and all surveys are pretty short

I never made it, I've probably still got 50p or so lurking in my account after I gave up! :D
