Goldie, I'm doing a GallyGirl, and retiring vicariously by reading your thread
OTOH, I've been scanning notes written on paper so I can throw them out, and while the scanner runs, I'm reading MrMoneyMustache - and I'm starting to get ideas again. I'm definitely better :j

Have a lovely relaxing evening.
Glad you're feeling better
A relaxing evening was enjoyed
On a vicarious retirement note, some days nothing at all happens, like today really :rotfl:
All I can report
Managed to do supermarket shopping without an argument !
Looked at how to get my interest paid gross from next tax year. It's simple - the form is on the HMRC website and I give it to the bank. But there's nothing on the form to denote a start date, so I'm going to wait until the start of the next tax year.
Listed two more eBay things - couldn't face any more!
Two more things decluttered
115) Worn out sandals to shoe recycling bin at shopping centre
116) Make up applicators, unused - eBayed ( I hardly ever use makeup)
I've updated my 'cash generated' figure in my signature - that's not bad at all
I'm stepping away from the computer now, I seem to have spent to much time on here recently with all the eBaying!Early retired - 18th December 2014

Congratulations on the supermarket tripMade it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!0 -
Hi goldiegirl, you don't fancy starting a house clearance business do you? I could do with someone coming round here to de clutter my tootMFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0

Goldie, I can't remember who else is into genealogy, but ancestry.co.uk say they've got free access 6 - 8 February. I'm going to be using it to work on my sister's in-laws, on behalf of her kids. Ignore ebay for now2023: the year I get to buy a car0

Strangely enough, I HAVE been ignoring eBay today. I've got to the point where I've done so much eBaying recently, I'm heartily sick of it.
I had a couple of BIN's that sold, so I packed them up, but did nothing else.
I probably won't do much listing for a few weeks at least. I'll post any sales that I have, but I'm stepping back for a while. It's been getting like a job, and a poorly paid one too.
Been doing a few other things though. We were looking online at freezers, and found the perfect one, so we ordered it and it's being delivered tomorrow. I even remembered to go through £co.
Tried a new slow cooker recipe, Caribbean chicken, which included peaches and pineapple, and it was very nice, we'll do that one again.
Managed a nice walk too.
Nothing decluttered, had a break from that as well
I had an email from Ancestry about the free days. I will go in and have a rummage around. I want to look at my great-great uncle, who was very dear to my nan. He was in the Boer war, so I want to see if I can find any records. He had an unusual name, so he should be quite easy to find.Hi goldiegirl, you don't fancy starting a house clearance business do you? I could do with someone coming round here to de clutter my toot
About 3-4 years ago, when i was really enjoying my eBaying, I did wonder about starting some sort of small business which involved buying and selling, and house clearance did appeal to me.
But now, I'm so glad that I didn't - I'd never get myself clutter free, and I understand it's really difficult these days to be a business seller on eBay.
I'll just watch the house clearance shows on TV, that's a lot easier! :rotfl:Early retired - 18th December 2014

Hi, everyone.
Feeling a bit fed up today, to be honest
Our new freezer was delivered as planned yesterday. We unpacked it, let it stand for a while to settle as instructed. Then plugged it in, switched it on.....it gave a gentle pop.... and nothing.
It's completely dead! We checked the socket and changed the fuse in the plug, to no avail)
So this morning I phoned the retailer (AO- Appliances Online, if anyone's interested!) and was told they need to get the engineer out, and they'd phone the manufacturer and get them to call us for a service visit.
Time went on, no call back, so I called the manufacturer myself, who hadn't heard anything from AO
They said they'd get the local approved service agent to call on Monday.
By this time I'm not impressed at all, so I call AO to basically moan!
They put me on hold, to 'see what they can do for me'. 10 minutes goes by, then my mobile rings - it's the local service agent, and I was able to book a engineer callout for Monday.
So that's how it stands at the moment. AO reckon they can't do anything until the engineer confirms what's wrong with it.
Hopefully it'll be something minor that can be rectified when the engineer calls - but I'd still be less than impressed to buy something new, which can't be used until it's mended. I'll see what happens, but I may end up pushing for a 'goodwill' gesture. I'm not one for the 'compo' culture, but this has disappointed me.
Just thankful we still have our old freezer and we didn't pay AO to take the old one away. Plus, at least we don't have to try and juggle work with phone calls and engineer visits.
Apart from all that, the freezer is lovely and it's just what we want, apart from it being deceased of course!:rotfl:
Still ignoring eBay, apart from one BIN that sold. Haven't even had a chance to look at Ancestry yet, but I might do that later or tomorrowEarly retired - 18th December 2014
