Just wondering if someone could help.
Last year I built my 1st PC see here and not long after the motherboard (Gigabyte Z87-D3HP) started having various problems.
After RMA 3 faulty boards I have finally been refunded and now need suggestions on a motherboard (not gigabyte), coolant and fan suitable for the processor I have please?
My current part list is:-
intel core i5 - 4670 Socket LGA1150
Corsair Carbide 200R
OCZ ZS Series 550W ’80 Plus Bronze’
KHX1600C9D3B1K2/4GX x4
Samsung 830 SSD
Sata DVD Writers X 3
1TB Sata HDD
I need to buy the board from amazon as I have gift cards and my budget is around £120 in total.
Any help is greatly appreciated

I was thinking of:-

Basically I don't want to spend more than I need because of having to by a new fan and hopefully if there is any money left a USB 3.0 card.0 -
Most heatsink and fans are 1150 socket compatible.I was thinking of:-

both boards are pretty much the same there with little in way of feature difference. both are usb 3.0 why the need for extra usb ports via a card.0 -
Out of the two, I'd be inclined to spend the little extra on the Z87-Plus to guarantee quality.
Both motherboards have USB 3.0, so you won't need to buy a USB 3.0 card.0 -
I always seem to run out of usb ports and this seemed an ideal way to add extra ports.atrixblue.-MFR-. wrote: »Most heatsink and fans are 1150 socket compatible.

I do have the fan from my previous motherboard if that could be used again?
Would this be ok to put on the cpu? http://www.amazon.co.uk/Arctic-Cooling-MX-4-Thermal-Compound/dp/B0045JCFLY/ref=sr_1_13?ie=UTF8&qid=1396879643&sr=8-13&keywords=1150+cpu+cooler0 -
I'm intrigued as to why you need 3 DVD writer drives?
Are you churning out DVD copies?

thermal compound is fine.
what fan and heatsink you got? usually you get the intel fan in the retail box with a processor unless you bought OEM box.
fine to upgrade the heatsink and fan for better cooling, (haswells run hotter than 3rd gen cpu's).
these are 1150 fitment
CoolerMaster Hyper TX3 Evo
Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro Rev.20 -
Yeah I have the stock fan that came with the processor.
It looks like this:- http://images.overclock.co.uk/product_images/large/RgsmuUL1BJ_BX80646I54670Kb.jpg
Should I replace that for the CoolerMaster Hyper TX3 Evo?
Or will it be ok?0 -

stock fans are fine, if you don't intend to overclock, or run cpu intensive programs that keeps the cpu at a high temp over long periods.
sometimes you can adjust the case fans direction, locations, for better cooler air movement that fetch temps down.0 -

With this PC it's generally going to be for CD ripping and then when I buy a new PC it will be used for XBMC so I am guessing they wont be cpu intensive tasks?0
