The company is known, and they've made a statement. It's Water Direct

That quote is interesting for what it doesn't say.halibut2209 wrote: »The company is known, and they've made a statement. It's Water Direct

It implies that there was actually no contract - by referring to a 'quote' but doesn't actually state that.
Are they saying that at no point whatsoever did the organisers contact them in the run up to the event with questions about invoicing, delivery, access, anything like that?0 -

I'm not sure who's the stupidest:
- the organisers, for not having an effective backup plan for a showstopper scenario like this
- the water suppliers, whose name will undoubtedly leak out (sorry!) whose inability to deliver on their contracts is now national news
- the runners who decided it was nevertheless a good idea to run for 20k with no expectation of having any water available
Most of the runners didnt know it had been cancelled0 -

Margaret Lilley doesn't seem very upset, but im not impressed with the moaning father either!"if the state cannot find within itself a place for those who peacefully refuse to worship at its temples, then it’s the state that’s become extreme".Revd Dr Giles Fraser on Radio 4 20170 -
The ball is very much in the organiser's court now.

It would appear a private company are behind this trying to pass themselves off as the council.
The water suppliers claim they failed to pay the bill and now they are refusing to refund.
I would say get your court claims in quickly.Be happy...;)0
