I'm not sure who's the stupidest:
- the organisers, for not having an effective backup plan for a showstopper scenario like this
- the water suppliers, whose name will undoubtedly leak out (sorry!) whose inability to deliver on their contracts is now national news
- the runners who decided it was nevertheless a good idea to run for 20k with no expectation of having any water available

Doesn't matter. The competitor's contract is with the organiser. The organiser needs to refund, then seek redress from whomever they deem responsible.One important thing to remember is that when you get to the end of this sentence, you'll realise it's just my sig.0 -
