Fabric conditioner

Anyone got any tips on the best fabric conditioner to get, both in terms of quality and value?
I tend to wait until Comfort or Lenor is on offer for £2 for 1.5 litres, then stock up.
I've tried the lidl one, Douche or something? I think it was £1.89 for 2 litres. Great value and I had no problem with the quality. But my wife reckons it's caused her to get a rash so wants me to stop using it, which is annoying because I bought two bottles.

So, what do you guys suggest, recommend and use?

I always bought blue comfort until it got to a ridiculous price and size dropped. I know only buy it when on offer, recently my local corner shop has had it for £1.39.

I've changed to Asda own brand, swap between the blue (soft linen and cottonflower), green (line fresh) and yellow (starfruit and amber) all really good, the blue smells very similar to comfort blue. 1.99l £2.

If I'm passing Morrisons then I'll get a couple of their own brand blue which also smells like blue comfort, sorry cannot recall the price, usually around the £1.00 mark for litre size.

I stopped using it altogether. I had a few garments and towels where it was suggested not to use fabric conditioner and just carried on with the rest of the wash. Can't say I miss it.

I used to use Morrisons and Tesco value range fabric conditioners (90p for 2litres).

But (rush of blood to the head) last time I was in Tesco I bought their 'summer fresh' which is yellow and on offer till 22/4/14 at £1 for 1.5 litres - it is much better.

Don't use it anymore due to an allergic reaction to it and I can say i notice no difference in the feel or look of my clothes. I do use a dryer though

Can I say try a few washes without. I have not used it for the best part of 15 years.

I haven't used FC for years. Can't tell the difference. I don't have a dryer, but my clothes are still soft. I have a giant towel that isn't so soft after washing, but I like that, as it exfoliates me while I dry myself :D

Well I was the opposite. I never, ever, ever, ever used it. Didn't see the point at all. But my wife started to insist upon it once we had our first baby and I can now totally tell the difference.
Everything comes out softer, fluffier and much easier to iron and fold. So it definitely works for me. I wouldn't say it was an absolute necessity. But it's a simple little luxury that I would rather have than not have.

I agree with DP James on this, it make a massive difference to clothes which I only started using properly after having ODS. Xx
