I didn't see the original thread but it sounds like the girl is turning her life around, with your help, OP

If she's having sexual relations with a 24 year old he most certainly can be charged, I think the Police are fobbing you off there. But maybe you should just let it run its course.

Make sure she doesn't get in with a crowd of wrong'uns at school, either, and undo all the good work you've done.

Unfortunately there's quite a lot more to this. And the wrong'uns at school would be an improvement!
    . . .I did not speak out

    Then they came for me
And there was no one left
    To speak out for me..

  • It probably sounds very callous, but he'll probably lose interest in her as she begins to look older, moving on to a younger replacement soon enough. After all, a 15 year old looks far less childlike than a 13 year old - and is usually much more likely to say 'hang on, you're telling me what to do now - I'm not 12 anymore'.
I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.

Sounds like you've done a great job! Just wanted to say regarding the 24 year old, there may be an organisation local to you that could support/advise you. Something similar to this :
    www.safeandsoundderby.co.uk

They may be able to put you in touch with someone local! Even looking through their website might help :)

The only thing that I havent been able to stop is her relation with the 24 year old  I call police every week to see if they have made any progress with regards to charging this man with something...as yet nothing.
Unless they are seen together and reported or she makes charges against him, he will just continue to see her.
It amazes me how little power a parent has when this situation occurs, it still causes me many sleepless nights.
The workers that come to see her tell me that at least if something bad happens she now has someone to turn to.
Its ridiculous that I am powerless to stop it
My only hope is that as her self esteem grows she will see him for the no good **** that he is

Thank you all for the replies and kind words, hasnt been easy bt we are getting there :)

Eskimo - I havent seen jockey school but i have downloaded it to watch - ty x

Couponqueen - We have been sooo tempted to follow her see where he lives and pay him a visit, bt tbh im too scared my OH would lose it and it would be him feeling the wrong side of the law

Thorsoak - Yes we now gt full fostering support for her  - Good job really as she has decided her biggest love is designer clothing  lol
We spoil her a little now as she never had anything before :(

j.e.j - You would think something could be done wouldnt you :(
I deal with police weekly, and specialists in sexual exploitation who work with her on her self esteem and teach her what a 'Normal' relationship is.
It makes me soo mad that this can happen in this day and age and no-one will do anything to stop it.
She was spotted in town with an older man, the police paid us a visit and tried to get her phone from her as evidence and she tried to throw herself out the bedroom window, so they had to leave it.

Shiny76 - Thank you, im working with Barnardos , Street teams and pace at the mo. They are great but even these specialists have their hands tied

Can I just thanks EVERYONE who posted on my original thread, I was lost before I posted on here and tbh I doubt she would still be living with us xxx
  • Thanks so much for the update - I followed your original thread but didn't feel I could add anything so didn't post on it. I've thought about you & her a lot over the months, & am so pleased to read this new thread.

You are amazing & I wish you & your family well.
& as for some happy ending I'd rather stay single & thin :D
