Ebay, if it's in the picture is it part of auction?

Hi, I wondered if someone could give me a bit of advice....
I recently bought a handbag on Ebay which I could never have afforded new and in the picture it was shown sat on its dustbag.
When bag arrived there was no dustbag so I contacted seller who said she hadn't said dustbag was included.
Because it was in the picture and was same make as bag I thought it was only reasonable to assume it would come in it.
I know it sounds silly to be fretting over a dustbag but the handbag is a huge treat to me and I wanted to keep it in it.
Is there an Ebay rule that says she should have sent it. I thought there might be but then thought if something was shown sat on a table you wouldn't expect to receive that!
Thank you for anyone's opinion and sorry for the waffle!

If the actual item shows something that can be reasonably expected to be delivered with it then I would expect that additional item.
I would therefore expect a dustbag with a handbag, but not a table that it was displayed on.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. I probably would have expected it, but she doesn't have to include it if it is not in the description.0

Have a look at the wording of the advert again to double check that it doesn't say "dust bag not included" as that would over-ride what soolin said, or Included in auction: handbag only.Warning: any unnecessary disclaimers appearing under my posts do not bear any connection with reality, either intended, accidental or otherwise. Thank you for your replies. It definitely didn't say in listing it wasn't included, it was one of those one line listings with just the very basics. I'll ask her to send it on separately and hope she's reasonable.
Thanks again0 -

I'd offer to pay the postage and a quid extra if you really want it, the gesture may help :-)The questions that get the best answers are the questions that give most detail....0 -

I would say yes if it was in the picture and it was to do with the item bought. If I bought a dvd, I would expect the box with it, not just the disc, if it showed in the picture that is.0

While I agree with you, the funny thing is I bought an antivirus program from a professional company whose been around years (big respected company) and it was pictured full retail box and it came as CD ROMs in a jiffy bag. I complained and they replied, "what did you expect us to advertise, a picture of a jiffy bag???"Warning: any unnecessary disclaimers appearing under my posts do not bear any connection with reality, either intended, accidental or otherwise. Hi AmberJ
The legal position would be, having seen the listing what would a "reasonable person" expect?
(So, of the above posters, who do you think is a reasonable person!!!)0 -
There's no such thing as a reasonable person on ebay0
