The Newcastle Big Home Saver ISA

They'll 'get you' at least once with no bonus payment, as there won't be any bonus payment in any month you make a withdrawal, too. So if you are after maximum bonus, transfers out/withdrawals should be attempted immediately after a "monthly anniversary" as they call it.
(But the 2% + 1% will do for going on with...).....under construction.... COVID is a [discontinued] scam0 -
Got the 'We've received your first deposit' letter but haven't got the 'logging into your account / Welcome' letter.
I shall twiddle my thumbs in wait.0 -
Nope. Have made two payments into it for different amounts, and the statement only shows those that I have made.
Thanks.
I guess someone has probably made a payment with my application reference by mistake. Bet they're glad it was only £1!Sealed Pot Challenge #239

I rang them last week and was told it's anniversary month for all.
Frank121: If you ring them tomorrow and find out any differently, please post on here.

Hi All,
I phoned Newcastle this morning and sadly they confirmed that payments in must be made every anniversary month and not calendar month as the terms seem to imply. She couldn't answer why the terms and conditions aren't clearer but simply said that's how it is...
Sadly it seems we can't squeeze a little bit extra interest out of them.
Cheers.

Hi,
Hope someone can help...
I have a Newcastle ISA fixed for 5 years paying 2.9% interest but I have not subscribed to it this tax year yet. So the question is, should I subscribe to that this year again OR should I open the Big Home ISA for this year paying 3% and then hopefully at the end of the year have the chance to transfer the ISA elsewhere if required.
I can save about £1000 - £1500 per month.
*I have already used up all allowances in non ISA accounts paying higher interest.0 -

Remember also that you can actually subscribe to two ISAs in the same tax year with Newcastle BS, thanks to their MaximISA service... one of the few ISA providers who let you split your allowance. So perhaps you could do both (presuming your 5 year fix allows deposits of course).0 -
So now I have online access and have the option to open further accounts besides the ISA. The non-ISA version looks good.
But how do you open one from within the online area since (under Funding the Account) it asks you to designate a.n. other Newcastle account - and does not show any account available to fund from and therefore blanks the application out.
Must you instead apply from 'without' the online area and once opened the new account would appear linked to the existing one?.....under construction.... COVID is a [discontinued] scam0 -

You need to logout and apply, then you can enter an existing account number to link up the applications (you'll be asked if you have any other accounts). You can also then fund the account via debit card or FP.0 -
I applied online for this account on 12 April, but the funds were dated as being received on the 16 April. I rang and asked them if they could confirm what the actual anniversary date was, and they confirmed that although I applied online on 12th the account wasn't opened until 16th, which will be the anniversary date. Only mentioning this because, if I hadn't asked them to confirm the anniversary date I'd have transferred my next payment into the account on the 12 May, when it should be no earlier than the 16 May.0

Oops. When my £1 test payment reached the account ok, I automatically made another payment using the same details. Lets see if they bounce or get lost. I shredded the SO form they sent me thinking it was useless.
I have just made the same mistake. Did the payment go through ok or did it bounce back? Thanks0
