What difference does this make?
Do you have a balance to transfer? If not, why do you need a new card?
you really are a miserable so and so sometimes (read that as always
)
most of us on MSE love you dearly and your advice is nearly always correct...but please, please just for one day smile and be happy. you don't have to live up to your name sake all the time

way to rain on someone's parade.
God forbid someone should be happy eh?
Anyway yes im pleased I can finally get mainstream credit, it means a lot to me after so long not being able to get a thing.
The steps i had was first it was Vanquis, credit limit, £250 - £500 - £1000 - £1250 - £2250
Aqua £300 - £550 -£750
capital one £200 - £700
barclaycard £300 - £550 - £6500 -

Well done Vintage Girl, your hard work has clearly paid off.
I also got not only excited, but SUPER excited when I started getting accepted for 0% deals again. I was stuck for a long time on cards with APR's ranging from 12% to 30% and then it started moving again. Whilst my debt is very high, it is also purely with the exception of 1 credit card on 0% deals so everything that I pay off is paying off the balance. It was a dark time before that so I can understand your excitement.
So, IMHO, it's a great sign and one which I would also be excited about because it signifies that, for at least 1 lender, you are a lower risk and that is a good start.

Personally, I think it's a little odd to get excited over acceptance of a piece of plastic that makes it slightly less expensive to get yourself in debt.
Personally, I think it's a little odd that you would take the time out to be deliberately antagonistic towards someone who is clearly trying to better their financial standing. You obviously need to get a life. I think it's clear that this is a little more deeper than just trying to get into more debt.

I have just been accepted for the TSB platinum balance transfer master card
im quite chuffed, credit limit of £1000.
Super news! Just out of curiosity, did you get an approval immediately online or a "we'll be in touch.."
I applied for the TSB Amex and it gave me a provisional limit of £1500 but then said "we'll email you soon.." and I notice they've done an additional unrecorded search of my Experian today.Never argue with an idiot. Especially not this idiot because I'm always right anyway.0 -

I am also happy to announce I'm part of the mainstream gang...for the last 6 years I've had to put up with the aquas and vanquis 's of the credit card world
I will never allow myself to get in that much trouble again nor do I ever want to see another 30% + apr card0
