Finally mainstream!!!!

After soooooo long, im finally mainstream

I have just been accepted for the TSB platinum balance transfer master card

Previous to this i had
Vanquis £2250
Aqua £750

    What difference does this make?
Do you have a balance to transfer? If not, why do you need a new card?

Your credit score doesn't depend on the type/name of your cards. Only the limits are visible to lenders, not the names. They cannot know if it's 'subprime' or not.

It's a nice feeling when you find that you can get accepted for 'prime' cards. Made no tangible difference to me when it happened but it still made me happy.:)

    Good news :D

I've ran the Barclaycard pre-eligibility checker tons of times and they don't wanna know. I wonder if they record the fact that I've tried it many times.. could be counter-productive.

I don't actually want a Barclaycard as I like my cashback-paying Luma, but I use it to check whether anyone will consider me for prime credit yet.

So I know how you feel!

Congratulations on improving your "I love debt" score. :)

Personally, I think it's a little odd to get excited over acceptance of a piece of plastic that makes it slightly less expensive to get yourself in debt.

Acceptance on a prime credit card could mean acceptance on other products e.g. a mortgage.

Not hard to see why that would excite someone.

How exactly did you come to that conclusion?

Just because you got accepted for a Platinum Amex (example), doesn't have any correlation to the £100k mortgage application you just submitted with Santander (example)...
