Did they actually offer this without you asking? We had a terrific struggle to try and get them to do as their website claims. Eventually did get some sort of voucher, but even then fell far short of their promise, as I am afraid is often the case with Morrisons lately. Their front line staff appear not to have a clue as to what is happening on the web, while their general website has been vastly reduced as they attempt to play catch-up in the online shipping market. Complaint to customer services remains unacknowledged from Thursday - OK, it's been Easter, but even so...

I asked at the butchers counter and he said 'I think that's only for pick of the street lines'. I replied 'this is a pick of the street line' So he phones the manager who came down and issues a voucher no problem.

However, went back on Saturday to claim the voucher, no lamb. They took my number to phone me when lamb is in and they've extended my voucher for another week.

Better than my Morrisons where 3 different staff members said they had never heard of these vouchers. Neither, worryingly, had the chap on the phone from Customer Services.

I gave up going to Morrisons as never could seem to get the offer I went for and its a 45min bus ride to get there.

I got our easter lamb from Asda.

It wasn't British - it came from New Zealand or Australia, they didn't seem to know which (so much for all meat being traceable back to the farm)

But they were sure it was packed in Britain

All I'm sure about is it was very tasty :)
  • I too picked up cheap NZ lamb from Asda - I slow cooked it but it wasn't that tasty. No matter - made spicy shepherd pie from the leftovers so did not matter.

I did notice that you had to be really careful over labeling though. Some lamb legs in Asda 'implied' that British but when you read the label the source was NZ but the 'processing' (butchering?) had been done in UK.

I got several from asda and after boning and butchering had enough for 4 meals for 4 from each - dice, steaks and a couple of small roasts. The steaks we had were very taste and price worked out about £5 per kg once boned

Received a £10 voucher from Morrisons today after my moan about them not having sufficient stock of their special offer. I am more than happy with that.

Wow, I have complained to CCS every time I have not been able to get an offer, may I ask who to and how you complained?

It was a lovely man called Les in customer services. Just told him how annoyed I was having wasted so much time on buses on 3 separate occasions only to find the offers unavailable.

I bought one and it was from Australia. It was one of the best we've ever had, really tasty, lean but tender. I would definitely buy one again. It was £9.80 and did us for about 13 dinners + soup. We had 5 for the main meal and 2 portions got taken away that was 7, then another 3 roast dinners, that was 10 portions, then more lamb cooked in gravy. It was just too good to flavour strongly ! Even the shank was tender.
Still virtually alcohol free since 4/1/15. (10 Xmas/ New Year/Birthday drinks)
