How much meat would you roughly get per kg?

I work on 300g per person if I buy 'bone in' or 200g per person if boneless.

So roughly a 1.2 kilo join will serve 4 people.

    That only my opinion though.

My Morrisons had none today. Told me it was a 'popular' offer. so why don't they get more in?

Aldi is just over the road and they had some so trip not wasted but it does infuriate me when stores have nationwide advertising campaigns for these offers and then don't have the stock.

I also went to Morrison today and they had sold out. But they gave me an IOU slip. Basically a coupon that's says you can buy a leg of lamb for £3.99 kilo when they come back in stock. Even if they're back up to full price when you go back you can buy it for that price. The half legs were out in vacuum packs but the full legs were behind counter. X
  • just drove out to aldi to find out of stock on 3.99 lamb...but pootled to asda and got 3 x £4 p kg and a £3 p kg bit of pork....

we have chicken three weeks out of four for the roast so we're covered for 5 months roasts (pork will split before freezing) as we got 10 chicken for £17.

Picked up a couple of lamb legs in Aldi tonight to bung in the freezer, along with one of their carvery lamb joints. Excellent value for money at £6.49 a kilo! Oh, and a Gressingham duck for just £6.99 :D

Was in Tesco yesterday and they were doing whole and half legs for £4 a kilo. Half a leg is better for me as don't have much room in the freezer, and didn't want to hack at a whole leg to make into suitable portions.
There's a storm coming, Mr Johnson. You and your friends better batten down the hatches, because when it hits, you're all gonna wonder how you ever thought you could live so large and leave so little for the rest of us.

Got a whole leg of lamb in Tesco today priced at £4 per kilo, they all had stickers over the original price ticket to show reduction, I guess in response to match Asda

I bought a couple of half legs in tesco yesterday afternoon at £4 per kg. there were loads left then. Pleased to buy the half legs at that price as usually are more expensive. A half leg is ideal for us otherwise we are eating it all week!

I bone and trim to make curry's.... you get about 70-75% usable meat from a leg of lamb.... I bought a couple of Morrisons £3.99 p/Kg legs this week... great price, but really tasteless.

Did they actually offer this without you asking? We had a terrific struggle to try and get them to do as their website claims. Eventually did get some sort of voucher, but even then fell far short of their promise, as I am afraid is often the case with Morrisons lately. Their front line staff appear not to have a clue as to what is happening on the web, while their general website has been vastly reduced as they attempt to play catch-up in the online shipping market. Complaint to customer services remains unacknowledged from Thursday - OK, it's been Easter, but even so...
