I have a lot of sliced ham that I need to use up!

Does anyone have a good recipe for Spagetti Carbonara?

Or anything else that I can serve as a main meal and use up my ham?

Thanks in anticipation...

cor your lucky ham dont last 5 mins in my house, my 3 year old goes straight to the fridge and eats it out the packet.

I like to do a nice pasta dish

use what ever pasta you like
make a cheese sauce ( am assuming most people know how to make cheese sauce if not shout me)
and add the ham roughly chopped
I also add chopped cooked chicken in too.
    sprinkle cheese on top

    serve with salad if wanted.
    Still Trying :o

Rolled round something (eg celery) then baked in a sauce - white or cheese or mustard, cheese on top, then baked and served with jacket potato?

Celery is easy cos it's the right shape, but I have also done this with other veg - tastes good even if it looks a bit messy!

I think you can freeze it (In small bags so you can get a days sandwiches out at a time?) or you could make some quiche's or omlets or something! ;);)
Only two big facts are known for certain: you are on a large, spinning rock hurtling through lonely space at about 67,000 mph, and one day your body is going to die. Will a new pair of shoes really help? :p

I had a bit of a ham glut ( amazingly little dog didnt manage to scoff it!) and I chopped it up and put it in freezer bags for pasta sauces but mainly for pizza topping :)

You can also make sandwiches with it , thenfreeze them for later too!

However, if you are anything like me, you have done so much OSing you can barely close the freezer door :rotfl:

Also lovely wrapped around par boiled leeks and baked in cheese sauce - especially if you put a little bit of mustard into sauce. Yum....

Carbonara is good if you beat up a couple of eggs with a bit of cream of creme fraiche and stir it into the hot drained spaghetti with the chopped ham and parmesan. The heat of the pasta cooks the egg a bit.
