What if the OPs husband was stabbed and killed? still a hero?

In my view, yes "greater love has no man than he gives his life for another".

But you'd prefer mob rule - obviously - because that's what you are defending all the time in this thread. Makes me sick to the stomach to think that I've corresponded with someone who believes that.

About 300 Victoria Crosses have been awarded posthumously so those recipients were still considered heroes even though they didn't survive.

Yes, he defended others without sparing a thought of his own safety.

If the OPs husband was killed whenever this happened.

He would not be remembered as a hero for splitting up a fight what he had no reason to be involved.

He would be remembered as an idiot who should have called the police instead and let them deal with it

If the OP wants to refer to her husband as a hero, that is entirely up to her.

If it were someone who tried to defend someone you loved from being badly injured you might change your mind.

He wasn't stabbed and killed though. Yes I understand that it could have gone wrong, but I dont think that makes him an idiot.

Calling him an idiot another 50 times wont change the OP's perspective on her husband.
