Anyone sane would never add someone they worked with to a social networking site, plus they would always keep their pages, photos and posts private.
Always have a professional email address and never slag off a previous employer etc.

You'd be sooo surprised. The younger generations have fully open facebook profiles. The older generation seem to lock things down. Plus there is a lot more activity going on with the youth these days.0

I most definitely don't have my present work colleagues as Facebook friends. It's also set on private and is not searchable on google.0

And why do you feel it is ok to google potential candidates FB etc?
I look on LinkedIn - it is meant for that.
But FB etc?
Everyone is entitled to their private life without people snooping on them.
There are some "bright sparks" that use idiotic names/photos etc but who says it means they won't be good at their jobs?
Bit too much of BB watching if you ask me.
You have a CV, you have LinkedIn - those are for job related issues. Not FB etc0 -

That is why people should keep their private life just that, private and not post everything online.
A search on FB for a candidate will show the employer if they are the type of person they want to employ if you are the person who posts everything for the world to see.
The employer may even judge you by your looks etc that's why I don't have a photo on LinkedIn.We’ve had to remove your signature. Please check the Forum Rules if you’re unsure why it’s been removed and, if still unsure, email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0
