In the end, it all depends on who needs to show their trust most to the other. If it is A that wants to prove their trust in B that they don't believe B is in it for the money, then they won't ask for one. If it is about B wanting to prove to A that they are not marrying for the money, then B might even be the one to suggest it.

Georgiegirl yes it's a hypothetical question.

I understood what you are driving at but people are getting bogged down by the current laws. Maybe :

If the law are changed so that at the point of marriage, all assets and liabilities of the two parties, immediately and irrevocably become joint ........ would this affect your decision ?

Hypothetically - pre-nups are denied all legal standing.
Hypothetically - marriage severs single liability on pre-marriage debts and all debts transfer legally to full joint liability on marriage ie both parties ( not original debtor ) become legally liable.

Obviously not going to happen but I think that is the question being asked ?

A lot of people seemed very against Heather getting less than 1% of Paul McCarneys money, there wasn't much balance there.

So the people who said forget the theirs and mine, where do you stand on this then, or does it somehow change when it's that's much money ?
