  • For the iPhone (which must be a 5 or 5c given it takes a nano SIM), if it is off contract and unlocked, a 3 2 1 SIM from 3 is the perfect solution to your problem as data is only charged as used.

As tethering isn't supported on 3 2 1 I suspect the iPhone wireless hotspot feature wouldn't work for your iPad but it would be worth a go.

Assuming you are on the more recent ios versions for your iphone..

Settings - Personal Hotspot - Check if this is on or off.. going into that menu will show how you can connect over wifi/Bluetooth (works with Ipad) or USB if were using it with a computer..

Some networks may restrict this facility - Mine was bought outright from Apple so I've never had any kind of issue with this..

Where were out I use my phone to share connection with the ipad and Sons Iphone as he doesn't have as much data allowance..

Yes I ve heard of both of those so basically watch adverts and earn data for iPad and a 321 sim for iPhone. Is the latter a pay as you go or a monthly thing ? Then I would n t need this mi if would I .

How could I tether the iPhone to my iPad though if I went down that route please :)

    Dither dither lost!

I bought a Vodafone mifi from Argos and being dumb, couldn't set it up so lost the months data. Because I'd bought it elsewhere, Vodafone wouldn't help.

Along comes the news about ovivo giving a monthly data allowance, more than enough for me for a one-off payment of £20.

That's where dithering came along. Afraid that I wouldn' be able to set it up, temporarily put it to the back of my mind.

Yesterday thought I'd have another go. Huh!, they're gone.

Does anyone know of a company that would sell me a sim, for occasional use BUT with no monthly charge? as it will only be used on five hr rail journeys every month or so.

Hi I've been out to Ikea today but I'm not sure if I need to unlock it as I don't know whether I ll need it so may take it back. I like the idea of one etc but I need a certain sim in my iPad like the samba one and a nano sim in my iPhone something like 321 from 3 I'm understanding would be best for me as you said. So still not fully decided yet as if I do take it back I doubt I'd get another for £25.
