I am in the last five months of a 24 month contract and am now on the Orange 250MB Plan , 24 months @ 21.99 p/m.

Is there a cheaper plan I could ask to be downgraded to... I am trying to save as much money as possible as the contract comes to an end before I cancel it later this year.

Thanks :money:

Is 250Mb all what you need? What about minutes and texts?

That said, don't expect they allow you to downgrade easily.

This makes no sense until the minimum term is over.

If I could get the tariff down to say < £15 a month [ £10 or < would be even better ] for whatever allowance it doesn't matter I would then be able to exit the contract less expensively than if I tried now [ @ > £20 for ~ 5 months ] and switching to giffgaff is a real option. Just looked at Tescomobile and their tarrifs are not that competitive anymore.

A while back I called Orange about the price of 0800 numbers, and the operative noticed that I didn't use much of my plan's allowances and offered to reduce it by £5/month, but keep the same service, which I accepted.

Some time later I looked at my account online I noticed that they had actually reduced my package and halved the data allowance.

I'm a bit miffed that they said it wouldn't change the package, but in reality it's not been an issue, so I've done nothing.

The change was about 1/3rd of the way through a 24-month contract.

However, I have been with Orange since the 90s (I've had the same number, apart from the change when the mobiles' area code went from "0973" to "07973"!), so I guess I qualified for some customer loyalty...

If allowances are not important, how can you save more money essentially by paying for the remaining months twice - at Orange and at Giffgaff?
