Any insurance you have on any motor vehicle will be invalid for the duration of the disqualification, and you will obviously have to declare to your insurance company that you have been banned when renewing that insurance.

Depending on positioning of buildings adjacent to the road, the 30mph limit may not be legal anyway.

Not Hammersmith flyover by any chance? If so the speed limit reduction may well be related to the extended closure due to excessive corrosion and subsequent emergency works to get it reopened - doesn't mean it is necessarily fully restored.....
