migrate from talktalk

I’m with talktalk and at the end of the 18 month
Can I just migrate to plusnet by asking for the mac from talktalk, im on the LLU with them, an simply give it to plusnet
Also do i have to leave talktalk phone line also or can you just leave their BB service and stay with their call plan phone service
I have been told that because talktalk is on a LLU you have to cancel the BB with them and also leave their phone service to join plusnet as you cant be with on a LLU to go on to plusnet
Would this mean leaving talktalk then going back on BT then joining plusnet without migrating
thanks

Plusnet can now accept a MAC from an LLU provider, but they would switch you back to ADSL IPStream Max connection which would involve some down time and a connection charge.
As far as I know I think you can still stay with talktalk as your phone provider.0 -
I'm leaving talktalk for Newnet. Newnet would also accept a MAC code but talktalk say they cannot provide one - only talktalk is llu enabled at my exchange - to go back to ADSL IPStream Max.
"These switches normally require you to cancel your service with your existing provider before activating a new broadband service with PlusNet.
Please note: it is not currently free to switch to PlusNet in these circumstances" is in the Plusnet faq's so similar to Newnet I think.
I also need a BT line for Newnet so to save downtime they advised me to get an order reference code which relates to a PSTN simultaneous order from BT to enable broadband on the same day as my line changes. Cost is £29.99 which is the going rate I think.“I look like Spiderman at a funeral”~ Karl Pilkington0 -

If you ask for a MAC talktalk are obliged under the new regulations to provide you with one, you do not have to tell them where you are going and it is nothing to do with them who your new ISP will be or whether they are an LLU or ADSL IPStream Max provider.
Threaten to report them to OFCOM if they refuse.0 -
Regulations do not apply to migrations from or to connections based on MPF ie. fully unbundled lines such as offered by talktalk/bulldog http://www.ofcom.org.uk/consult/condocs/migration/statement/ para 1.17“I look like Spiderman at a funeral”~ Karl Pilkington0

yep, and i think they will offer you the cheaper package of £16.39 to try and retain you, saving over £4/month on current package, with their Talk2 international package at £5.89/month + £10.50 LR0

re joining BT may sign you up to a 12 month comitment with them, you'd have to double check first and read their small print0

Read this http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/technology/6676819.stm or search the net for Plusnet Spammers before choosing where you're migrating to. That's my advice.0

That was over a month ago and only some customers on one of their servers had their addresses stolen, Plusnet are currently offering these people a free domain with a new email address, new customers will not be affected.0 -

And plusnet still haven't provided a satisfactory explanation, and it's just the latest example of their inherent incompetence. Really, steer clear.0
