That's even worse than the site I looked at that said it was currently 0.588:(

Does anyone know why its going down so much, I read somewhere that it may continue to go down in the near future. I always find it so frustrating when looking at my paypal account after cashing out, 'Is that it?' is always my reaction.

The Paypal rate is the only one worth looking at really, as we can't influence it in any way. The rate this very minute on Paypal is 0.575415 GBP. There is a currently converter on Paypal you can use to check it.

I would say the main reason it keeps going down is because Paypal know they can get away with it and skim some more off the top. When I convert my money now I use a rate of 0.58 just to have a rough idea on my spreadsheet what I've made each day. Might have to change that even lower! It was 0.60 about six months ago.

I just google 'dollars to pounds' and you can see the exchange rate at the top of the page. At the moment it says 0.59.

That is of no help really though as it is the Paypal rate that is all that matters when your money is in Paypal :) Paypal set their own rates unfortunately.

Indeed, I've lost about £20 in the last few months, it all adds up doesn't it! Sometimes I consider holding onto it but the rates not picked up in ages.

It will only get worse as the pound gets stronger against the dollar. Interests rates will increase at some point this year even if its 0.25 or less but its an upward trend from now on unfortunately. Added to the fact that paypal can set their own rates but even that will be affected by BOE interest rates.

lets all hope america increases their interest rates i've not heard the fed saything anything though so i doubt it.

because were payed in dollars anything good in the USA will be good for us if the american economy improves even further american interest rates will go higher which will raise our paypal rates. After the 2008/9 crash everyone piled into the dollar as everyone knew the US would never go bust unlike other countries around the world they just print more money and borrow out their problem. The deficit in the states is huge trillions and will go higher and higher.

    sorry to bore people lol
