Rachel, have you tried clearing your history and switching your router off and on again?
I've never been banned from crowdflower or clixsense but occasionally when I log on a get a message saying I am unable to view the offers page as i'm using a proxy server. Like you, I would have no idea how to use a proxy server. I just clear my history and turn my router off and on again and it seems to work.
EDIT: Your situation does sound slightly more serious. The message I got was just like an automated message which would pop up on my screen. I didn't receive an official warning. That message probably comes up with me because I regularly change my IP address so I can complete surveys on both swagbucks and clixsense. It wasn't related to tasks.
My router actually went off this evening... internet cut out and I reset it. (but i still have the same IP address, mine is static and doesn't change like yours does). well what a suprise i got exactly the same message as rachelb word for word.
i do have an ipad and do sometimes use puffin but not to task but did access CF in early feb if memory is right.
I would assume they are sending that out to people generically
i have sent kevin a message apologising as i can't say i've not used puffin but not to task as far as i'm aware as rachelb said why do it when you don't payed ?
if its a one time thing then hopefully they will slap my hands and let me task.
I'm not in the same boat as rcahcelb as she hasn't used puffin but strange how we got the same message at the same time i wonder if its just to fob us off again.
i also asked for times and jobs that i've allegedly used a proxy but i assume were looking at days for a reply to our message.0 -
Older_wiser have you tried the link that I put in my thread?
Obviously if you use that and it comes back no proxies etc you could send a screenshot to Crowdflower to help your case.

I didn't put anything in the title message but at the right hand side it says are you still having problems or something similar and i press that then type my reply. on my tickets it does the message is open.
at least i know what the problem is now hopefully it will get resolved over time

Sounds like you're reopening the ticket fine then, I'm always replying via e-mail so that is why it is different.

I've been looking at the wiki page about proxies and it's as clear as mud. I can't even work out why a person would use one on CF... why would you want to hide your identity... and not get paid!?
I only one have CF account.
I did try to set up a new one when i first signed up to Clixsense because I didn't understand that you could/were supposed to use the same CF account across both CS and Swagbucks- I thought you needed a separate one for each site... but they never sent me out the verification code so the 'second' account never actually got made.
I've replied to 'Kevin' and sent them an email too... I want to know exactly what task it 'appears' I used a proxy for, because it does feel like a complete fob-off. I don't think my other half has done anything to the computer either... he's less computer friendly than I am.
Well I guess if their account had been banned and they had presumably been put on an IP address blacklist, they could use proxies to hide their IP address and then provide a different e-mail address and paypal to get paid.
And great to see Katy and VG up on the leaderboard at the moment, have you guys been doing the review keywords task then?0 -
I've done 100 ish of those, 100 of the GIF tasks on Monday and just a few dribs and drabs, nothing special.
