Evening all. 5 weeks today since the atos assessment. I guess im leaning against an open door but what sort of waits have people had?0

Good Morning All.
just thought I would bump this up to give an update.
my wife has just returned from her first session with an advisor under the terms of her wrag.
the main bullet points are:
"Your esa will stop may next year, you will not be entitled to anything else"
"Its unlikely you will win your appeal to be placed in the support group as thats for terminally ill people with cancer and brain tumours"0 -

This is very wrong. I have none of those conditions and am in the support group. I know many people who are too.Sealed pot challenge #232. Gold stars from Sue-UU - :staradmin :staradmin £75.29 banked

To be fair the OP does say that those were the main bullet points so we do not know what else was said.
However, I do agree that the general statement is misleading.
The OP needs to look at the descriptors for the support group. Since he hasn't said that he disagreed with their findings to place his wife in the WRAG group then I am presuming that at the time the medical was conducted she met the descriptors for the WRAG group.
As we all know mistakes can be made so I will post up the support group descriptors and see if the OP believes his wife 'fits' any of those.

Oh dear. Yet another hearsay statement as fact from DWP advisor. I too am in th SG & although I do have a terminal illness, it is not one that would come under ESA rules. I get it on mobility grounds alone, but I qualify on 2 other points too now.0

Couldnt believe the advisor could make a sweeping statement like that.
My wife appealed in May, rang to chase things up in June and was told that they had only just started looking at claims made in April.
She was placed in the wrag on mobility grounds, (could mobilise for 50 metres they say). Her GP is very sympathetic and has said he will write a report to back her case if the initial reconsideration fails. (The advisor also told her this morning that if her initial reconsideration fails she will "have to go to court")0 -
What a load of rubbish re support group. I'm in support group for MH problems and although I am still in the five year period before I'm classed as fully in remission from cancer it isn't terminal.*The RK and FF fan club* #Family*Don’t Be Bitter- Glitter!* #LotsOfLove ‘Darling you’re my blood, you have my heartbeat’ Dad 20.02.200

My wife had a phone call this morning. Reconsideration has failed.
"Not seriously ill enough for support group".
Her GP has said he will back her case at tribunal.
Onwards and upwards to the next phase I guess.

It might be worth getting help to prepare the appeal.
Has your wife looked at the criteria for support group? She'll need evidence too.Sealed pot challenge #232. Gold stars from Sue-UU - :staradmin :staradmin £75.29 banked

the letter wouldnt have said 'not seriously ill enough'.
as indiw has said ...
she needs to meet one of the support group descriptors.
without doing this, it reallt doesnt matter how poorly she is, she will never get into the support group without it!
