    Okay,

It's Gatwick to Saint Lucia and it would be economy class

    Hope that helps.

Ok, we plan to go to St Lucia from LGW but would like to travel in further comfort...something like business class/upper class (I hear they're the same level).

Is it worth it? (My wife has a bad back so anything that allows more room and the ability to lay down helps)

    So it wont be economy?

Only you know if it is worth it.

What is the difference in price between economy and upper class?

I only ever fly economy (economy comfort on Delta sometimes) there is very little difference in comfort and price between those. The difference in price between economy and Upper would never be worth it to me

At a very quick glance the lowest fares to St lucia is around £350 on Virgin or £1350 in upper, so if £2000 extra is worth it to you then go for it

Change of mind. As it's a delayed honeymoon I thought it'd be nice to make the journey nicer as well.

    Sounds great!
You'll have a lovely time - plan ahead and make sure you make the most of the whole experience from getting to the airport early to enjoy the lounge experience.

And make sure you sign everyone up to collect air miles - I imagine you'll pick up quite a few for flying in premium cabins.

They'll come in handy one day - my wife thought I was silly collecting BA miles until several yrs later we started flying globally and she got a job flying all over Europe. Now they've added up to such a number we're planning flying first class to New York later this year.
NEVER FORGET THE POINTS lol - collecting costs u nothing.

The new/refurbished BA economy cabin beats Virgin hands down, helped by the fact you have mains power at your seat. Old BA versus Virgin is a closer call. While generally Virgin's IFE is better than BA, some of their fleet still has fuzzy channels on a loop rather than being on demand. BA's food is better than Virgin's, with bigger portions and in my opinion the drink selection is better (includes cava and London Pride). The box full of crisps, chocolate etc in the galley is a nice touch. I've also never heard of BA rationing or running out of booze like Virgin are known to do!
