I am most likely to be booking a totally un MSE...5 day? ....trip to jumeirah beach in August with DD and possibly Ds2 if he'll have it. there's some good (but still expensive deals) she's 15 and has missed out on years of holidays and really wants to go.......so I might just go for it. I've been cheeky and mailed them and asked if they'll extend the offer they just had on for a night in the burj al Arab, if you book :D you can only ask?
They have already said they have unlimited access to the water park :T:T:T

......now I just have to sort out DS2 trip to Hollywood :o

Bless them, they haven't had a decent holiday for nearly 6 years, I'm trying to sort it out before they leave home! :(

It's not the end of the world if they don't go on holidays Fairclaire lol I only went on one when I was growing up and that was to Butlins for a week :) when I was about 12.

picked up my order, but still showing as on it's way atm first time ever. It's normally waiting by the time i get home

The 2 for 2.50 had come off the cost of the shopping. Just got to wait to see if the apg picked up the offer or not

I like this game it's like gambling for groceries

I've found the status of waiting for collection only changes after the time slot expires so if yours is t ill 10 it will update shortly after that.

Wow mhoc, you are brave! I had enough of a problem when we booked for Cuba about 6 days before we went

fairclaire we went to Hollywood probably around 10 years ago, I have never been so disappointed at anything, it was a mucky dump, even Universal Studios wasn't all that :( It may well have changed now but be prepared if you do get to take him :(

I'm glad I didn't bother with one of those T-mobile sims. I was sorely tempted but then I would have lost the contract I have at the moment and had to weigh that against the saving I would make over the year which would not have been much, my contract is £1 a month for 25 mins and 50 texts which I have only ever exceeded the first month DD moved out :D I got it when someone on here posted it, not sure who it was though, it was quite a while ago. The annoying thing was I was just considering going over to Ovivo :(

Morning everyone, already the day is turning out to be bonkers :)

The only major things I'd got lined up for this morning was catching up with the washing and packing the ebay parcel

Then I got a call from P and O at 8.30 which immediately put me into a panic as its only a few weeks until we go on holiday so immediately your mind starts going into the worst case things that might mean you had a phone call

What it was though was last weekend we had visitors on Saturday night so I didn't get to check the emails until Sunday. In the meantime I had one of the endless email updates from a cruise company re last minute deals. This included a weekender cruise with a very good price. I knew it was probably just one cabin and it would be gone but I thought there was no harm in just ringing them. They did still have cabins but as I already knew he price was more than double the one quoted in the email update so I did not take it any further.

So at that point I forgot all about it until this morning when someone from P and o rang to ask if we were still interested. I explained what had happened and she asked what the special offer price was and she could see it on her screen. Anyway she said you never know if they got last minute cancellations today then she would keep us in mind and would we be on this number all day so I said yes. I said it would be no problems jumping on a train in the morning or tonight to get to the port.

So since then I realised what I've said - I have actually put us on stand by all day now - how mad is that. OH is actually on call so no idea how he would get a swap at this late stage.

Apart from that little hitch everything else would be easy to organise. I went on trainline and there is a train that goes straight through to the port early evening with no changes so that's very easy. I also checked overnight hotels and again no problems. The cats were already booked in at the cattery for one night next week so all I would have to do would be to extend their stay and get them there before 6 so again that is no problem. We are already partly packed for the forthcoming holiday so I know where all of the essentials are.

I know this is not going to happen but it's been an interesting exercise in how simple it would be to do something spontaneous and last moment.

It's been such a very long winter and the last break seems like a lifetime away I think we are almost at bursting point and we are willing to go anywhere now on any ship whatsoever :D

Just waiting for a panic phone call from OH in response to my email :rotfl:

    I really hope this happens....
I once booked a weekend in Majorca on the Friday to go early Saturday.
All was well and the three kids looked after BUT child no four was not on my passport and only four months old and still nursing ..................I got my best john Bull kit out and neatly added her, changing the passport office date stamp with a green pen (of course it was in the late nineties and they were not computerised like now).
Can you imagine what my heart was doing when I passed through security :eek::eek:

    Oh balls!

Is it really only 930? I've come to work an hour early and I cant even blame the clock change.!! :o

I forgot my wife changed her shift (i usually drop her off and head straight to the inlaws to drop off Dd and then go to work)

No wonder the in -laws were surprised to see me earlier :rotfl:

    Oops !!!!

I am keeping EVERYTHING crossed that OS is still glitching this evening. I wasn't able to go tomorrow and OH didn't print my wombles so I won't have those until he gets home at 6.

We only have 2 big cats left!
