Morning all
Just a quick skim back over yesterday but glad to see the bungalow went through Tinyshoes :j
I had a great day at work yesterday
My mood quickly changed when I got home though. I am really embarrassed and feel stupid but think I have learnt a valuable lesson so I will shareApologies for the essay to come...
Back in November like some others on here I signed up for 2 'free' T-Mobile SIMs to use as a back up as DH had been going over the minutes on his mobile. We changed contracts since then and the SIMs have never been used. I pretty much forgot about it and had had no communication from T-Mobile until yesterday. The letter said I had failed to pay my bill, the account had been suspended and they had written to the credit reference agencies to inform them. It also said if they didn't receive payment then they'd terminate the contract and I'd be liable for an early termination fee  I rang immediately and spoke to someone who said that there was a 1p per SIM per month 'line rental' and that I'd been charged £3.50 per month for not having direct debit set up. I had not received a bill as that would be an extra £1 per month and all my bills had been online.
So so cross with myself
They charge me 2p/sim/month......no idea why......:o
I don't have the sims active (gave one to my grandma to use and the other hasn't been activated) but receive confirmation of the bill via the tmobile (now EE) app :beer:0 -

Morning everyone, already the day is turning out to be bonkers
The only major things I'd got lined up for this morning was catching up with the washing and packing the ebay parcel
Then I got a call from P and O at 8.30 which immediately put me into a panic as its only a few weeks until we go on holiday so immediately your mind starts going into the worst case things that might mean you had a phone call
What it was though was last weekend we had visitors on Saturday night so I didn't get to check the emails until Sunday. In the meantime I had one of the endless email updates from a cruise company re last minute deals. This included a weekender cruise with a very good price. I knew it was probably just one cabin and it would be gone but I thought there was no harm in just ringing them. They did still have cabins but as I already knew he price was more than double the one quoted in the email update so I did not take it any further.
So at that point I forgot all about it until this morning when someone from P and o rang to ask if we were still interested. I explained what had happened and she asked what the special offer price was and she could see it on her screen. Anyway she said you never know if they got last minute cancellations today then she would keep us in mind and would we be on this number all day so I said yes. I said it would be no problems jumping on a train in the morning or tonight to get to the port.
So since then I realised what I've said - I have actually put us on stand by all day now - how mad is that. OH is actually on call so no idea how he would get a swap at this late stage.
Apart from that little hitch everything else would be easy to organise. I went on trainline and there is a train that goes straight through to the port early evening with no changes so that's very easy. I also checked overnight hotels and again no problems. The cats were already booked in at the cattery for one night next week so all I would have to do would be to extend their stay and get them there before 6 so again that is no problem. We are already partly packed for the forthcoming holiday so I know where all of the essentials are.
I know this is not going to happen but it's been an interesting exercise in how simple it would be to do something spontaneous and last moment.
It's been such a very long winter and the last break seems like a lifetime away I think we are almost at bursting point and we are willing to go anywhere now on any ship whatsoever
Just waiting for a panic phone call from OH in response to my email :rotfl:“Create all the happiness you are able to create; remove all the misery you are able to remove. Every day will allow you, --will invite you to add something to the pleasure of others, --or to diminish something of their pains.”0 -
The multi not showing for me now on msm but definitely was earlier. I chanced 8 though as I really wanted some and could go last night. Will post results at 11.55. HthCherish those you have in your life because you never know when they won't be there anymore.

Sometimes a company seeks authorisation from the card company as soon as you place the order (so they would use the web price )Then they pick the order and amend the total based on actual final price
I was wondering about that, but it's showing the token pound being authorised at the time I placed the order (10pm-ish) and then the full amount at 1am. Also showing full amount on A.com (with your order is on the way next to it) :think:0 -
Morning all
Can't decide what to do. I've got a CC on the OS to pick up later, but when I just checked my credit card pending transactions it's showing that they've taken the full amount (without any multis kicking in).
I copied SFSB's shop, so I know I ordered the right flavours. Hmmm.
you mean you paid by debit card...visa perhaps?.....they usually reserve the full amount and bill the lesser......depends on how and when you ordered.......credit cards are usually the same but rarely visible to the customer when in auth stage.......hth but if not p.m. me.0 -
Anon,
Apparently they text you to say the bill is ready but I haven't received these as the SIMs are in a drawer
QoC,
Did you sign up for a direct debit at the start then? Seems I would have avoided this if I had... Stupidly I never considered the need for a DD. He did warn me that I would be transferred straight over to their standard tariff (I assume without further notification) once the initial 12 months is up. So will need to be vigilant to avoid further cost.
I think so....it was a long time ago :rotfl:
