I've been looking through the A. mag. and notice a few items with offers starting on 3 April (Thursday) so, yes, it really is a Wednesday night thing!
As usual, the idea is to buy when it's not on offer, in order to get expensive price comparison vs cheaper elsewhere. Perhaps I don't see how this one could be of use though, as we don't want a lower price (i.e. the new r'back price) to be compared vs the rivals. Maybe we need to be looking at items that Mr A isn't drawing to our attention!;) Or perhaps it is of use...
It's the Palmolive hygiene plus that is currently £1.30/any 2 for £2. I was thinking buy two at £2, but may msm think it's been bought at full price £1.30 each if no longer on mbuy? Price comp. normally picks up actual price you pay (which is £1.30 each) - it does recognise mbuys, so if this were going the other way, i.e. 90p to 2 for £2, you'd buy 2 in order to pick up the mbuy that would be more expensive than what you'd paid (90px2). Thinking aloud - maybe won't work opposite way?!? Mbuy (2 for £2) will disappear on Wed night on the Palmolive as it's going to 90p each - so buy late on Wednesday, after the new price has come onto a.com and msm. If no mbuy then £1.30x2 vs the cost of two elsewhere (need to look at this) even though only paid 2 for £2. No idea if any good or not, and may depend on whether other stores go on offer tomorrow, if so may bring better offers to compare against by Wednesday!:D
Other item is new Ben & Jerry's Greek Styles (page 28, A mag, April 2014), 'normally' £4.45 - on they on mbuy?!?:think::question: - new items, so may be missing one or more on msm and could use as triggers? - folks, you look into for me pls;) - the 'offer' is going to be £2.50 (on Thursday) - so what does that bring? If anything?
Finally - pg 46 - some Neutrogena - new products;);) - no pricing yet. Will be available from 3 April (according to the mag.) - watch out for these in case they start on part of mbuys and whether they are missing.:)0 -

I noticed outside A today one of their guys was changing a big hoarding. Yes - it's the offers on the Easter eggs that are being promoted now - some that we bought weeks ago - probably not now the right time to be buying them? (Will still need to go back and check though to see if all eggs are on msm or not.)
He had replaced a printer cartridges promotion. So - maybe time now to see if any reduced price cartridges are available in A?;):rotfl:0 -
Yay!! Got no hot water!!
Fuse had tripped earlier and wondered what it was, turns out, whoever plumbed in the hot water pump thought it would be a good idea to place the control for the flow directly above it, and now the control tap is leaking and dripping onto the pump, so the pump has shorted!!
Fingers crossed it will dry out and be fine.
A replacement pump is £120, plus a new flow tap+ labour probably £200 or more.
Cant wait!!
Good job its warm as the central heating wont come on either, needs the hot water pump working.0 -
I suspect this has been posted before - but noticed Bodyform "Secure-Fit" is 'free if you don't agree' for those customers lacking in confidence like ourselves. Maybe stick one (if you haven't done this offer already) on your shop with the crisps vs T tomorrow? £1.79 A vs £1.19 T. 2 for £3 in A but only need one!!
However Royal Mail prices are rising, yet postage & packing is only refunded to 50p. So factor in a slight loss there (unless you bought all your '1st'/'2nd' stamps two years ago like I did), but about 72p APG (so paid 72p less the difference in price on the stamp and the packing etc. to take away).
This is going to be £1 in A from 3 April! So only a window of 3 days in which to take advantage in A. Although maybe also one to watch for whether "£1 or any 2 for £3" on Wednesday night! If so, buy two then pay £2 but comp. picks up 2 for £3! (And then - are you really one hundred per cent confident with the product?) If it says £1, maybe (maybe, maybe not) still good to buy at £1.79 on Wednesday night late in the store (not after midnight) - we are going to be busy late in the day on that night:rotfl: - and comp sees what you pay hopefully!
As for 2 for £3 etc. - I notice T&Cs of Bodyform offer include the following (which stumps me a bit):
"If the claimant has purchased the product on a 3 for 2 deal then the total value of the products will be reimbursed to the maximum value."
What?!?
What is the "total value" of the products? Does that "total value" take account of the 3 for 2 deal or not? It's not clear to me! The "maximum value" btw is £3.58, but the T&Cs are silent about whether the "total value" is the total value that was paid, i.e. net of the 3 for 2 deal, or is the individual prices totalled up.
It's the total value "of the products". But what does that mean? What are the "products"? E.g. if the 3 for 2 is a mix and match and includes products other than Bodyform, does it mean all the products, including the ones that aren't Bodyform? Or just the Bodyform products? Obviously more the marketing people that wrote this than the legal teams!:rotfl:
And note that if Bodyform Secure-fits are purchased on A's 2 for £3 deal, that's not a 3 for 2 deal! Again, though, maybe the writers of the T&Cs meant something different from what they actually said and perhaps, in practice, they mean to apply a different rule which, under a 'try me' deal is what the promoters can decide to apply, and other people are not as technical about words as I am! Methinks I could be taking it too literally. Moreover, "no correspondence will be entered into" - in other words the promoter's interpretation is final and this won't go to law.0 -
