Charliezoo,
I am not bothered who takes out what with whom. By the way, I'd be grateful to know who has 'far better cover' as I will immediately move my family to them.0 -

Well, Charliezoo's money saving gym membership scheme was obvious, but your post referring me to his scheme and claiming it being flawed remains a mystery!0 -
The company I work for uses WPA who have been fantastic but it is heavily subsidised so I just pay a minimal amount through altering my tax code slightly.0

Hello Interjector,
I have been a PMI specialising broker for 10+ years. In that time i have been a Pruhealth member for the last 5 years, a huge fan of theirs and have helped many companies and individuals set up policies with them. More so than any other of the 60+ insurers we have agencies with.
I can see your point to a degree, but you are completely missing everyone elses.
Pruhealth have encouraged people to take out their PMI with the promise of free/very cheap gym membership (remember the advertisements 'Why Pay for the gym' ect) and 100% of this years premium off next years. My premium was £3.46 monthly for example and i had free gym and many other highly discounted rewards.
Now with the 2010 changes my gym will go from free to £40-£50 monthly and my insurance premium goes up to £50 ish monthly. Plus my wife will not score 2400 points on her own.
I have already moved insurers and i suspect that many others will not renew in 2010 and can you really blame them?
This is a money saving site many people on here saw the great deal (to good to be true many said which has ultimately proved correct in time) and joined mainly for the free gym and ability to keep premiums very low. Many (most on this money saving site) joined for the free gym. Now that its gone many (most on here) will not renew in 2010 because they were not really interested in the PMI in the first place. It was just an added bonus for many.
Pruhealth have some good things going for them especially their moratorium, cancer cover and profit share. Their premiums can also be fairly competitive on company schemes and that can be all important.
Their admin is often in a mess though, its probably the most complicated scheme on the market especially now and claiming can be a nightmare and take days with forms for your GP to fill in ect compared to the likes of say Bupa who usually take minutes on the phone, add to that many people struggle to understand the people in the non uk call center.I am a independent health insurance specialising insurance broker. Anything posted on here should not be considered advice and is for discussion purposes only.0 -

So why come here with this attitude:Interjector wrote:If you want to save money on gym membership and have no interest in private medical insurance, do not take out this form of insurance with anyone
This thread only came about because we could make considerable savings on gym membership.
But you know that!
It seems that you wanted to seize the opportunity to post your spin/glowing review of pru.0 -

I thought this comment axiomatic too.
I also thought my comment erinaceous and stegophilistic.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -
ha ha.. whoever thinks I'm the same person as Intejector, very amusing Quentin, brownbabygirl, but it is possible for 2 different people to have the same opinion you know.The_silver_surfer wrote: »claiming can be a nightmare and take days with forms for your GP to fill in ect compared to the likes of say Bupa who usually take minutes on the phone, add to that many people struggle to understand the people in the non uk call center.
to this comment - as I think I mentioned in a previous post, I've claimed from Pru (as well as BUPA, AXA and Standard Life previously), and the experience with Pru was by far the best (hence I'm a fan - whoever questioned this too!). The claim was all authorised over the phone, I got the authorisation email in my inbox as I was on the phone to the nurse (Pru use nurses to authorise claims as well but the way, others just use some out-sourced call centre who don't know what they're doing). I also got a text message with the authorisation number. Tell me another insurer who does that?0 -
it is NOT a coincidence that BOTH of you jump to this site and immediately come on to this thread with your pro Pru nonsense. basically ALL of your posts to date are about how 'great' pru is. it is just tooo bad to be true. either you are the same person or you know each other somehow. at least be honest about it!
this thread is not really about those of you who took out the insurance for its sake anyway.QUIDCO £2827 paid out since October 2007:D0
