Frugal Frump to Fab - The Journey Continues

Hello and welcome (although I'm pretty new here myself
)
Just wanted to chip in about benefit cosmetics - they have a new foundation/face treatment out recently - I really like it! I also like the boing concealer, the pore treatment and the moisturiser.
I have a shopping outlet trip tomorrow, really looking forward to it, but going to try to limit buying to stuff I need/will make me feel good, instead of impulse cover-up buys. Can't wait though!0 -
Hello to all the new posters
lovely to have you on board!
I have been focusing on my food again this week and have meal planned for the coming 7 days to ensure that my meals are healthy and I have filled the cupboards with tasty and healthy snacks. There is a fruit bowl on the living room table so that I have fruit within easy reach. It is important to me that I am fabulous from the inside out!
My weigh loss has stalled and I am frustrated that I am only 3lbs away from moving down a stone bracket so upping the exercise this week too.
On a cheery note though I have started organising the veggie garden for this year so I am exercising by digging and organising and I will be growing my own fruit and veg to enjoy over the summer. Freshly picked salads are divine. A good way all round to be fabulous.
Also been decluttering the house which really lifts my mood. On the subject of mood lifting I am meeting some friends this week so I want to look and feel fabulous when I see them. Just heading up for a wee pamper session tonight I am going to tidy my eyebrows, mini manicure, exfoliating, face and hair mask.Taking responsibility one penny at a time!0 -
Good morning all
"Lego" was fab. Dead silly but also really clever. More for adults than children really - I don't think children would get the jokes. There's this really stupid song."Everything is Awesome" - I can't get the damn thing out of my head:rotfl:
Still feeling really tired. The orangatang is back - not a good look. :rotfl: So a quiet day, a bit of food shopping and then some pilates and a rest later.
Whichway - that's a great start - hopefully the sun will be back again - you can't beat sunshine and blue skies for lifting the mood and giving an energy boost. Mother of the Bride - wahoo!!
Maman - thanks for the info on the Benefit - make up. Will definitely take a look. I tried some Aldi stuff - CC cream and some radiance cream - bit disappointing so I'm on the hunt for some new make up.
Yes my sister will help me with the cottage and we'll rope her daughter (my lovely niece) and my lads in as well. Many hands and all that…….The ladies will pack up and the boys will provide the muscles for disposing of it all.
Little Butterfly - well done on getting promoted. Go you. Re looking professional. I think the key to looking professional is grooming - looking immaculate.
What do you do, what kind of business or type of employment. Most employers have some form of dress code, some come straight out and tell you, some leave you to guess!!!
I actually love business dress but then sharp tailoring suits me best of all, frills and flounces just look silly on me. Even my "smart casual" clothes are quite tailored. I like getting "suited and booted up".
If you need inspiration for business dress take a look at some of those American TV shows. The Good Wife - More 4, 9-00pm on Thursday has some fabulous women in gorgeous clothes - great for getting some ideas.
Hi Joanna'smum :hello:- welcome to the gang.

LL I always find your posts so motivating
I was thinking this morning that next week my DD is away on holiday so it would be a perfect time to do some sort of healthy cleanse. Now as I am breastfeeding it will have to be sensible so I was thinking of just eating unprocessed foods for the week? Loads of fruit, veg and wholegrains in an attempt to perk me up a bit. Also going to plan some lovely walks to get me out and about more.
This will also be the week that I get my pampering back on track and I am going to get my eyebrows done, hair dyed and maybe cut if I can find the pennies
When I return from maternity leave I am going to have a clear division between my work wardrobe and my casual one as currently they overlap quite a bitIn the main that is due to lack of finance however I want a clear division between the two so I am going to look for key pieces to create almost a work uniform so that I am smart and not scrabbling about for something to wear.

Just for you LL

It's a real ear worm so listen at your peril. But it IS rather catchy :rotfl:
Welcome to all the newbies to the threadlovely to have so many aboard the fab train
First day of school hols here. Have managed to survive the first day without threatening to throttle the kids so that's good going
What's not so good is yoga has slipped a bit as has doing the facial exercises. So time to make an appointment with myself every day to do both of these things.
Not much else to report on the fabbing front. Want a pair of navy converse style pumps. Do you think I can find any in a size 8?! Refuse to pay the extortionate amount for actual converse as much as I like them they are so expensive.
Need to go shopping for some summer tops too.
Better go, kids calling for attention.
Hugs and high fives all round xI have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knifeLouise Brooks
All will be well in the end. If it's not well, it's not the end.Be humble for you are made of earth. Be noble for you are made of stars0 -

I'm sure you'll get there, you seem to be doing fabulously well so far.:) Keep us posted.
I do admire all your planning and resolve rummer. I think it's a great idea to keep work clothes separate from your casual stuff. I think wearing a 'uniform' for work helps you leave mum/partner behind and focus on the job. What I've noticed is that work clothes aren't as strict as they used to be. I often wear cropped cardigans with dresses/skirts now whereas it used to be only jackets were acceptable. I also used to wear black trousers every day but I stopped that when I lost the weight.
Good luck with the school holidays bitsy. It's a horrid, wet day heer although I think it's picking up a bit tomorrow.
I've been for a pedicure today, much overdue and very relaxing. Tomorrow I'm having my eyebrows done. I could do it myself but a bit of pampering always goes down well.;)0 -
Hi all,
Ooh, lots of lovely new peeps joiningLL - I saw Lego Movie the other week as well, and yup was humming that song for the next two days! Also saw the new Captain America - not a bad story and some nice eye candy included :rotfl:
Has been a little manic over the past week, had a gig with my fav band, which was prob just what I neededThen housing inspection one day, traffic survey another and my parents decided to come up for a last-min weekend visit. I love them but they do have the best timing
Then had a job interview this afternoon so has been all go. Few too many meals out, so the healthy eating has not been going well - but back to it today. Feeling much better to be back to 'simple' food, too much stodge over the weekend! Just had soup for tea and going to do a meal plan for the week now. Have been trying to make a bit more effort organising outfits and actually adding make-up and accessories. Shall get there slowly
Hope everyone is having a good start to the week x0 -
