The MOTOFONE F3 from Motorola is simple, functional and fashionable.
Normally you need to but a £10 top-up with these PAYG phones however that requirement seems to have been dropped just now so the phone is only £9.99 delivered.

Thank you sooo much for that. My phone gave up in the rain last week and I have spent the whole day looking for an inexpensive phone.:j0

this is a great backup/emergency/holiday phone, but it is extremely basic:

can only do calls and text messages, and the text message display is a bit rubbish. but with an almost 2 week battery life, and its expense, its great for a camping holiday or something.0 -
I have just bought this phone for my son. It is really basic which is what I was after as he uses it to phone us when he is away from home. Just a quick question: can I choose to go with a provider other than Orange?
Thank you all in advance.

Yes, this review is just as scathing :

Mav - this will be almost certainly be locked to Orange. You will probably need to get it unlocked if it is unlockable, to be able to use it with other sims.0 -
#6 I thought it might be, thanks for that.

Yeah, the screen on this phone reminds me of those old Texas Instrument calculators

Thanks to the other Orange thread I noticed that unusually there is currently no top up required at the Orange shop at the moment on any PAYG phones.
I also checked a discount thread that I posted a few days back and it is still working. £20 off all PAYG over £30.
http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=490884
So in effect £20 off and no top up.
e.g. Sony Ericson K310i £14.99, LGkp202 £14.99, Sony Ericson K750i £59.99
All delivered. This code does work as I know it has been used a couple of times.Blitzkreig Bob says Hi to those checking his validity!0
