You know eBay better than I do, soolin, but I was under the impression that that would not be possible, since buyers, feedback and any other possibly identifiable data was anonymised at the server-level.
You can see feedback left for other users by viewing the ME page. The ME page is shortly to be retired, but for the moment if a user has a ME page and has ticked the feedback section, it is visible to all, with full user id's of those having left it.0 -

As per theonlywayisup, doing non traditional searches brings up a lot of info about buyers and sellers- you just need to know how to best use the advanced search optionI’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Fair enough. I'd still be interested in the wording of the product, though that could help identify it through a simple search as well so probably shouldnn't be posted here either.
Alas.
All depends on the precise wording. I see plenty of things listed in a similar vein to 'Genuine Apple iPhone cable'. Drumming down into the semantics of the wording it can mean nothing more than what they are selling really is a cable for an iPhone, with no reference to whether the cable is made by Apple or not.
Unless it explicitly stated the cable was made by Apple, then if you received a cable for an Apple iPhone, even if that cable was an unofficial one, then you got what was listed.0 -

'Genuine apple product' means just that? Any seller who tried to hide behind silly explanations about it fitting Apple products would get a neg from me (carefully worded to avoid removal).

Apple Genuine Official 30-pin to USB Cable, PN: MA591G/B, [BRAND NEW]
RRP: £15.00
Part Number: MA591G/B

No point in getting proof if you're just going to send it back as not described. When you give the proof to ebay they should refund you and tell you to destroy the product. The seller is unlikely to admit it's fake so obviously they're going to ask for the item to be returned.
This is correct and exactly what I went through when I bought a fake 'Genuine' Fred Perry t-shirt.0 -

Ebay never give me this option, even though the item was reported to be a fake from the beginning of the complaint. Just that I had to return the item to obtain a refund.
The seller has now had the cheek to start re-listing the fake products yet again.0 -

How did they tell you to return it? Did you phone them up at all and explain the situation?
You could try reporting the listing. Not sure that the'll do anything but you have proof to back up that you ordered one and it was fake.0
