The people of Scotland, in general, can't be trusted to look after their own affairs. Some of them can't even spell independence. Do we really want people like that deciding the future of our country?

So the majority of Scots are not capable of running their own affairs?A lot of no supporters have been turned off or switched by that attitude.
70% want devo max, which is what the Isle of Man has,if the London parties had offered this 2 years ago this vote would never have happened

If you feel that you live in a country called Scotland, and want the people who live here to be given a government they voted for, vote Yes.
If you feel that you live in a country called the United Kingdom, and that Scotland is just another region in it, then vote No.

I'll be voting Yes, because I beleive Scotland is a country, and the people here should have more say in how it's run.
SNP may have taken us as far as the referendum, but they must be shivering a bit at the thought of having to go up against their opponents on a level playing field - i.e. n obuilt in vote because lots of people want constitutional change.

A whole new game can be started. Who has the ball(s?) to get it started?

This is one thing I am confused about and you maybe able to help.

Both Mark Carney and Douglas Flint have predicted there may be capital flight from Scotland to England if there is a Yes vote.

Also the banks and financial institutions may move their headquarters from Scotland to rUK. The banks will then register for FSCS.

So if one of these institutions fails, would the FSCS return the money to Scottish residents?

I can see them returning the money to residents to rUK, but would there be political will to return the money across the border?

Or would the situation be like when the Icelandic banks failed and the British government had to pay the money with no prospect of its return.
In this case the Scottish government would have to return the money and then sue the rUK government?

Can you shed any light on the above?

    Many thanks in advance.

The vote needs to happen. Alex Salmomd has said it is a once in a generation event. What the Isle of Man has is actually what Salmond is pushing for and will get if it is a yes.

IoM is not part of the UK, nor would Scotland be.
Queen is head of state, Salmonds wants this too.
Pound sterling in circulation, yes this is what Scotland will have but as is the case for IoM interest rates are set according to UK needs.
UK represents IoM abroad, to a large extent this would be the case for Scotland. A UN seat could take twenty years and the SNP already wants to share ambassador and consular offices.

See, Alex has all these items on his shopping list but no idea on how many of them are going to come about even when all three parties that could make up an rUK government have said some will not happen.

He's also hung himself by promising Trident will be gone quickly, that was/is his best bargaining tool when/if he sits down to work out what is what after a yes.

SNP have mentioned 5 1/2 years.
I want Trident switched off IMMEDIATELY, and gone from our waters as soon as is feasible.

Please don't get bogged down by thinking this is about politicians - it has gone WAAAAY beyond that, and on to where it really matters. Look around you. Look at the Yes posters, the No Thanks signs in the fields. It's the people of Scotland that are out on the streets campaigning for thw Yes/No vote. Aye, all the politicians might be out there too now, at the last minute.

But Women for Indy, the Radical Independence Campaign, plus at least one Yes group in every town - they've all been out there for quite a while now. We, the Yes campaign, don't need to ship volunteers in from elsewhere, and we don't need to offer £25 a day plus £10 travelling expenses. We're being extremely non-MSE in this, in that we only do it for the chance of a better country. No money can buy that. Scotland for the millions, not the millionaires is the phrase, I believe?

'Hung himself by promising Trident will be gone quickly'

Not sure how that is 'hanging himself', it's a negotiating position. Just like the UK saying there will be no currency union is a negotiating position.

I haven't heard one single impartial commentator say that a currency union would be a bad idea for rUK if there's a Yes. And believe me I've looked.

But having said that I fully accept it may not happen.

As for Trident, it will take a while to move it which I also fully accept. Key thing is we stop paying £250 million a year on it and re-direct the cash to the NHS/Schools/Public Services.

Will be nice to be able to control our own economy.
