it's a wonder we got home it was the injector pipes had bust we drove 2 hours with desal pouring from the engine just to get home
Personally, I think it's a wonder that you even consider yourself (or your husband if he was the driver) competent to drive a vehicle on the road and if I knew your name, I would have no hesitation in reporting you to the police.
Having ridden a motorbike for many years and with my son having recently started, I think that the roads are dangerous enough without some idiot knowingly driving a car that is pouring an extremely slippery liquid such as diesel onto the road surface.0 -
thank you too all0

Which post?
The original one:
http://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:JECxykKBnvwJ:forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.php%3Ft%3D4928932%26goto%3Dnewpost+&cd=1&hl=en&ct=clnk2. we thought it was fixed but no constant jerking going down the road until we decided to take it off to blackpool for the night and found desal, smoke pouring out of the engine it's a wonder we got home it was the injector pipes had bust we drove 2 hours with desal pouring from the engine just to get home ..
Or the one that was amended this morning once you had read the responses to your actions?2. we thought it was fixed but no constant jerking going down the road until we decided to take it off to blackpool for the night and found desal, smoke pouring out of the engine it's a wonder we got home it was the injector pipes had bust we had drove 2 hours with desal pouring from the engine not knowing it was until we got home
People can only respond to what is written and in the original version of events, you stated that you drove for 2 hours with diesel pouring from the engine with no mention of not being aware of this at the time.0 -
read my post properly thanks
Threats? Get off your high horse.
Hermione Granger made the quite valid point based on your original post. It's not their fault you didn't post the facts as you conveniently now see them having edited your post. As a motorcyclist myself and a high-mileage driver I 100% support their point of view.
In all fairness, you shouldn't have continued driving the vehicle with smoke emanating from under the bonnet anyway, it could have indicated a serious issue about to occur, which could have meant a fire (putting lives at risk and causing disruption to traffic), fuel leak, or imminent component failure. To ignore any of these possibilities and drive on was at best irresponsible and at worst, outright stupidity due to the potential dangers.0 -
You have to love how the Op edited their post.0

I'm afraid that I have to agree with the posters who commented on your actions.sorry I had wrote that wrong . we didn't know that It was coming out till we got home we had seen smoke on the motorway and we stopped to look and couldn't see anything when we got home we parked up and went in house then back to car to get case and found the diesel all over the road .. so if the smoke was coming out on motorway we guessed it must been pouring then ..so hope that's ok ?? so thanks for the telling off but if we didn't know it was diesel why would we get a recovery ?? was just smoke from what we could see at that point or maybe it wasn't maybe it got worse driving it but what ever it was all over our drive when we went back out .Don't judge me and I am not into driving illegally after having my son in ICU with motorbike accident why would I put others at risk ?? thanks
Why would you put others at risk?
You tell me.
You admit to driving a car on a motorway with "smoke pouring out of the engine" and yet you didn't think to stop and see where that smoke was coming from or if it presented a danger to yourselves or other road users.
A car fire is a risk to others and if you don't understand this, maybe a bicycle is the way forward.0 -
