How goes the interview prep? Do you know the format, structure, etc.?

Hi INOD. Was going to read up and prep tonight, however the best laid plans etc etc... Got home to find my home invaded by bees - well about 6 in the kitchen and about 10 upstairs but the rest of the hive were partly outside and also under the bedroom floor. Were making an awful noise and DD was freaked out so I have taken her to my sisters for the night. All seems quiet at home but I am going to have to call the bee man in the morning. All because of a small gap in the brickwork. Going to get it all sealed up once they've gone!

Anyhow back to the interview. Short Microsoft office test then an interview with panel of 2. I think it will be ' tell us about a time when you ....' And what's your weakness type questions so I will need to spend tomorrow evening swotting. Any suggestions welcomed. :)

  • Think about positive weaknesses such as too much attention to detail, etc. also, don't restrict yourself to work based examples.

Good news and bad news. Got the job. Yayyyy. Bad news it's less money than I thought. About £250 a month less. :( and about £550 less than I'm on now. I think we could survive and I could also earn a bit more by working another day somewhere. OH freaking out but I'm desperate to take it as I've been so unhappy. Help!

  • Do the sums. Check again. If you can get by, take the job. You spend too much time working to work somewhere that makes you unhappy. Make the change while the option is there but it doesn't hurt to try asking for an increased starting salary.

Thank you INOD. That is really wise advice. The sums are good (the ccs will take longer to pay off). But I could have the option of a second job this way so it could work out much better.

It'd definitely got potential. OH is coming round to it.

    :)
