Have just been to Arsder and spent over £80. Not sure how that happened but I think it involved a lot of birthday cards (£15), mouthwash & toothpaste (£8), bits for dinner and for breakfasts and lunches - porridge, seeds ands sardines and other bits for my health kick. Oh and DH wanted a little bottle of something for £6.70.

Oh well At least it came out of my budget for the month. There may be more frugality this month than normal as am determined to stick to budget.

Had a lovely lazy afternoon and then sat in the sun with family for a family birthday. Sadly not a NSD but that's not a problem. My face is slightly pink from the sun but in a nice way.

Just checked the bank accounts, not expecting any change but surprised to see that Barclays have upped their provisional loan offer to £25k. Not that I want it but am really pleased that the few changes I've made have seen this increase from £3k. Then just logged onto Santander 123 and found that my cashback has been paid. £16.67 which means after the £2 fee I've made £14.67 just for transferring some savings and direct debits. Reducing my overdraft has saved me£5.24 this month so a total of almost £20 in my pocket (£240 a year). Thanks MSEers.

I'm waiting for £30 cashback from the mobile phone company. I really need to open a 5% account or a Halifax account as well or maybe both? Could I have 4 accounts? I am wondering about closing my Barclays or at least stopping the premier payment if I can find an account that would give me a 0% overdraft for a year for a grand or more.

Anyway enough rambling. Off for a snooze. :)

Ok. Conk still red so better avoid the sun do here's my to do list:

Cleaning 2 hours (Hoover dust and mop like mad)
    Prep for interview 1 hour
    Tidying 1 hour inside
Clear out the shed and go to dump
Get something for dinner if necessary/sort out weeks meal plan

Have been fiddling with my sig again. Feèls good to have a deposit rather than just a back up. It may turn into a back up but will tackle that when it comes.

Have a great day all 😄🌸🌺🍄🌳🌲

Was sad to read of the tennis player Elena Baltacha who has died from liver cancer aged only 30. Had a whole life ahead of her. Very sobering, very sad. :(

Will definitely start to cherish my life more.

The Mail also reported that eating fish may reduce depression. I've just started my healthy eating which advises 3 portions a week so even more reason to keep that up. I found out the Delia recipe which is a tin of sardines, lemon juice, white pepper and parsley. I also added mayo and put in the blender. I will have with rolls for lunch and this is cheaper/healthier than fish paste or tuna. Should last 2 or 3 days. It's not the easiest lunch I guess but I really need to make the effort, to keep healthy and happy.

    Sending big hugs out.

Been having a giggle today. :rotfl:

Have spent £17 in MrT. However it was all cash from the budget. Few more spends tomorrow, then the usual weekend spends and then hopefully a couple of non spendy weeks. Looking forward to half term off and will be having a Staycation.

Oh dear! Its only 11th May and I have really overspent, but..... I'm usually at this point at the 1st of the month so its better than normal and I'm giving myself a very small pat on the back. I have had a taste of what its like to have money in my purse for 11 days (rather than relying on borrowed money/cc's) and its very nice - I am working towards that being 31 days a month as my very first goal!

We have had haircuts and highlights this month costing a total of £90 but it was 5 months since last trip to hairdresser and I do have an interview next week *yayyy*. I've also had to pay for my back treatments and being out of pain is priceless (although sadly expensive, but worth it). Quite a few birthdays in May and mostly all paid for, although my flexible friend has been used I will be able to pay it back at the end of the month. I've also got to buy new tyres but am waiting until the end of the week as that will mean I don't have to repay until the following month.

Oh, I've also bought an excel course online from Groupon - think it will come in handy for my interview and something I've really wanted to do anyway. Hope it will be a useful investment.

Also bought some cook books - I stopped myself buying any for ages but this month have bought three (Jack Monroe's, a halogen oven cook book and also a slow cooker book). I bought the 'Girl Called Jack' book after subscribing to another thread on here where loads of pictures etc. posted. I've made the smoky lentil burgers - which went down an absolute treat and this week I am going to make the Red Kidney bean burgers and also the mushroom chasseur.

Right, I need to get on and prepare for my interview, do a bit of ironing and cleaning, do some work. Will report in later.

Great news on the up and coming interview - good luck.

Agree with you on back treatments, £40 every 4 weeks here, though I haven't been since February and doing ok at the moment. It's a necessary evil.

That's a 33.3% improvement getting money to last to 11 days in, well done :T

I need to take a leaf out of your book and get back to writing To Do lists and then doing them! Race you for the cleaning! :rotfl:
