Might be an idea to consider a different cable-run through trunking (as I suggested earlier in the thread) in the walls rather than under the floor boards. You could also pin it along the skirting board, although this might not be a good idea if you might be flooded again in future.

I do have an aerial cable that runs under the floor from one room into the next, but it stopped working during the floods. That was put in before any carpets were laid or furniture in place. It looks like my only option will be to move all the furniture and take up all the floorboards to replace it - or run another cable over the carpets and through the doorways.

If you don't want to pay for it to be done, just take up one board at each end, tape the new lead securely and neatly to one end of the old lead, pull it through using the other end of the old cable.
Easy.
