Considering I very nearly went with Ovivo, it's cheap enough for me.:)
10p a minute is hardly going to eat up your credit if you're a very low user as the OP stated.

Depends on what people deem as low use surely.

Eg 40 minutes and 10 texts on Giffgaff £4.50p

    Same on 3 2 1 Three. £1.40p

Thanks for that, I'm guessing 3UK is the same as 3 (3 Pay as you go)?

3 certainly look the cheapest option, but no good if it doesn't work in this phone.

The phone just isn't capable, sadly.

So, 10p/min suddenly becomes good value if you don't use it much ?

If my dad uses 15 mins in two months that's a miracle! The family have an unwritten rule that if we receive a call from him - we tell him to hang up and we call back as we are all on unlimited contracts.

White is the best option for us at the moment. Sim ordered yesterday.

    Yep.
I got £15 credit for £10 through their referral system.
At 10p a minute (or 6.7p based on what it actually cost me), that will last me at least a couple of years looking at my past usage.
So the running costs of my mobile will be no more than £5 a year. I suppose I could reduce it to about a third of that by shopping around, but I've got better things to do.
If giffgaff go out of business like Ovivo just have, the most I can lose is £10 and my number. Inconvenient, but hardly anything more than that.

That is exactly what I do. If OH or children get a missed call from me on their mobiles, they will call back using their prepaid minutes. They know I'll get annoyed if they answer on the first ring! :)
