Doro Mobile Phone - Networks?

My elderly dad has an easy to use 'large buttons etc' mobile phone and he had the Ovivo Chip in it.

Does anyone know which networks will work on this phone as he doesn't want to change it?
Also, I need to set him up with a payasyou go - he is a very low user and a monthly contract isn't worth it for him. Any ideas of any providers to go with this phone?

Go with giffgaff?
They use the O2 network and I've just gone over to them for a very low use phone. If you register on the giffgaff forum and click on the link many of the contributors have in their signature, you get an extra £5 when you top up with £10, which you have to do when you register.
So long as you make at least one call every 6 months (they say on the forum), the phone and credit remain active.
I transferred my number from Orange to giffgaff with no problem.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the In My Home MoneySaving, Energy and Techie Stuff boards. Oh! Still call cost didn't really matter for a very low user. It's more that they don't deactivate the SIM to quickly. I think tesco is 6 months but you can call them and they'll reactavate it up to 12 months?0 -

Explained in my post above.:D
"No monthly top up needed. They say " If you do not use your Mobile Phone for six months we will disconnect you and you will lose your Credits and Mobile Phone number. "
No option to have it reactivated for 12 months. Needs a short call every six months.0 -
Go with giffgaff?oldharryrocks wrote: »Dont they charge 10p a minute a call for low users, and 6p a text .Hardly cheap.
Considering I very nearly went with Ovivo, it's cheap enough for me.:)
10p a minute is hardly going to eat up your credit if you're a very low user as the OP stated.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the In My Home MoneySaving, Energy and Techie Stuff boards.
