host familys

Hi Have just become a host family for foreign students. I just have to provide breakfast and evening meal . It pays £102.00 per week if you provide a packed lunch it is £8.00. So far they have been in college all day and has been smooth so far. I thought it was a great short term way to raise some extra money as well as my children learning about different countries and languages. Some language schools have people on 10 month courses. My children are sharing a room to accomadate an extra person. Also it pays ok , I couldnt earn that part time fitting in around school drop offs and pick ups.
Wondered if any one else has foreign students?

My Dad did this for a while for groups of foreign students (he [strike]has[/strike] had a 5 bedroom house that was empty apart from him after the kids left home).

He made quite a nice profit out of it and he could pick and choose how many lads he had and at what time of year. I occasionally consider having a student to stay in the spare bedroom, but I'd have to persuade Mr Watcher not to sit on the sofa in his pants drinking beer Homer Simpson stylee after a hard day at work.

You cannot live as I have lived an not end up like me.

Oi you lot - please :heart:GIVE BLOOD  - you never know when you and yours might need it back! 67 pints so far.

we get £14 per night - £98 per week for each student, dont need to give lunch unless at weekends.....

got 1 for 3 weeks, other for 2 weeks, then get another 2 for 2 weeks, finish just before we go on hols....... finger crossed get paid in time for spending money.......

used to have students when the eldest was a toddler and had them most of the year - whilst DW was stay at home mum..... a few funny stories to tell....

see if you have a language school in your town - you'd be surprised how many of them there are. Ours pays £110 a week I think for summer students. We will do it at some point but not this summer with a baby about to be born.

but I'd have to persuade Mr Watcher not to sit on the sofa in his pants drinking beer Homer Simpson stylee after a hard day at work.
